On November 26th, 2024, I wrote a review on the restaurant “Thai Tyme,” located in Manassas, where by the end of it I was heavily satisfied. Afterwards, the article was posted, and I didn’t think much of it again until around December of last year. I was getting myself a takeout order from Thai Tyme when the owner came up to me and recognized me. Which led to him asking me when I was going to make another article for the restaurant. I responded by saying I would make it my next article after I was finished with the one I was currently making progress with. And that leads up to today, I have made another dine-in visit to Thai Tyme, and I am ready to prove whether or not Thai Tyme is timeless.
When I came into Thai Tyme, I was pleasantly greeted by the waitress, just like last time. When I was seated, I looked around and felt something special about how the environment looked. Everything looked special, like I wasn’t just walking into a business but someone’s home. The environment doesn’t feel like it’s tailored for the purpose of being simple. It’s unique, and I really don’t get that feeling at any other restaurant, honestly. Just like before, there was decorum spread wide throughout the restaurant. Ranging from paintings, quotes, books, cute-looking dolls, potted plants, and little planes hanging from the ceiling. In my eyes, personally, it seems rather clear that somebody had some type of passion when it came to decorating the place. Even the lighting was neat. It just drove home the feeling that I wasn’t just eating at a restaurant.
After gazing at the nice environment, I got my menu and started to look through it. My menu was easy to read and comprehend; everything was neatly sorted. Looking through the menu, I was able to note down all the prices. I will list the following categories and their ranges. So you, the reader, can understand how much you would be looking to spend when you decide to come in yourself. For Salads, they’re in the $7-$13 range. Appetizers are $7-$11, Soups are all just $6.95 exactly, Noodle Soups are $10-$13, Fried Rice is $14-$19 depending on the meat, Curries are $13-$15, with their Duck Curry being an outlier, with one costing $20. In general, most of the Entrees are $14-$20, with all the side dishes costing $2-$5.
Anyways, when it came time to order the appetizers, I decided on the Steam Dumplings and the Spicy Wings, nothing really new for me. As a majority of the time, when I come to Thai Tyme, I get those appetizers. It didn’t take long for these appetizers to arrive, rather swiftly, actually. The plates they came in were different from the last time I visited; however, the plate for the Steam Dumplings had an amber outline with a nice gradient of blue on the inside. Again, it also looked neat. The dumplings were placed in a circle, with carrot peelings in the middle. The ginger sauce for the dumplings filled the empty space between each dumpling; it was cute. The plate for the Spicy Wings was regular, though, just being a square. Though something about the Spicy Wings was really different from my last visit, the size of them was way bigger. It was probably an outlier, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. As always, the wings were smothered in that yummy Basil sauce.
When I was finished admiring and taking my notes about the appetizers, I started to chow down. I ate my split of the dumplings first, and as always, I loved it. I know my purpose right now is literally writing a review, but I find it hard to explain exactly how good these dumplings are. All I can muster up is the fact that the ginger sauce makes up the taste so well, along with the shrimp, vegetables, and chestnuts in it, which help out the texture a ton. When it came to the Spicy Wings, of course, they were spicy. Not too much, though to where I couldn’t handle it, but just enough to where you can understand how it definitely claimed the title.
None of the waiting times for the food were long; from the time I came into Thai Tyme and left, it was only about 50 minutes in total. Which is a perfect time for just about any restaurant standards. The music that played while I was there was just slow jazz, which just about anyone should be comfortable listening to. The atmosphere was slow and quiet, which is again perfect, but that’s more on the subjective side.
Aside from my amazing experience with the food, the employees at Thai Tyme are all very familiar with each other. As it’s literally a family business, the flow of the restaurant seems really nice. All of the employees are comfortable with where they are and don’t just seem like they’re working for a wage. I think this is one of the main reasons I love this silly restaurant so much. Something about myself is that I find it hard to eat pretty much anywhere that isn’t my home, as I don’t feel really comfortable elsewhere. I end up throwing up whatever I eat when I go out to any other restaurant. The exact reason why I have this trait, I don’t actually know; I kind of just have to theorize it with myself until I get checked out. Despite this trait, though I don’t really have an issue when I eat at Thai Tyme, I guess the reason why is that I truly do feel at home whenever I eat at Thai Tyme. I understand that this probably sounds weird, and it probably makes me biased towards Thai Tyme, but maybe they deserve it. Whether it be because of the environment, the workers not just feeling like workers, or any of the sort. Thai Tyme will always have a special place in my heart, such a special place that I don’t quite think anything else could replace it.
Straying away from my silly love story with Thai Tyme, how does this visit compare to the one I made with my first Thai Tyme article in mind? The answer to that is it really isn’t that different. In the first article, I exclaimed my love for the restaurant, and I am doing it again in this one. The difference in this time is that Thai Tyme has visually improved all around, which is nice. But the food still makes me only want more.
I wish Thai Tyme only gets more and more love from the people of Manassas, and I hope to see it succeed and prosper. If my silly articles on Thai Tyme motivate you to visit, the location I went to has a website, where you can see all the menu items and prices yourself. Depending on how close to the Thai Tyme you are, you can personally order food from there, and they’ll deliver it. Which is a more trustworthy method to use instead of using any third-party sources. They have food for just about any diet, and if you have any questions, this article has unfortunately not answered you can contact them from the website as well. Another option if you don’t want the delivery fee is calling Thai Tyme up directly and making your order, where you can pick it up yourself once it’s finished. I do this option most of the time whenever I don’t feel like sitting down and just want to quickly get my food.
Oh, and to answer the question of the article. Thai Tyme is truly timeless, I don’t think it will ever not satisfy me, and again: I hope the best for Thai Tyme and its future.

I don’t think I’ve ever eaten at Thai Thyme, but I am always looking for new restaurants to try, so I will definitely add it to my list!
