As the 2025-2026 school year comes to an end, many of our Osbourn Eagles shared some of their favorite memories and events of this school year. This school year was full of some unexpected events and many unforgettable memories that will stick with our Eagle family for a long time!

The relationship between teachers and students is always one of the best. Whether it’s a moment full of jokes or a time to study, many Eagles have created memories with their favorite teachers this school year. “My favorite memories with my teachers this year are probably all of the memories I have with Mr. Whitley. I liked hearing all his jokes about general things and just about life, during leadership class,” said junior Kayla Hogan. ” Junior, Daniel Viera said, “One of my favorite memories with a teacher was when Ms. Morgan was making jokes about the AP exam and about life.” Sharing memorable moments with your favorite teachers and students is always something to cherish and remember about school!

Every fall season, football games are always a huge hit for our Eagles. Many students and teachers have created memories that will be passed on as stories to their children and will always be cherished. “Something that I will miss about this school year is the football games. I loved the atmosphere and everyone feeling so connected. I also loved how the sunset looked while the game was going on, they were all such a vibe that I will miss and can’t wait to feel again in the fall,” said sophomore Keidy Chacon Diaz. “Something I loved about football games in the fall was the hype, vibe, cheering for the team, and it is always a blast,” said sophomore Brianna Paz. Many students like Keidy and Briana have created memories with friends and family at football games, and can’t wait to create more! 

Here at OHS, we have amazing music classes and musicians. This spring, choir had their amazing Disney Spectacular show, which was a big hit amongst many students and parents.”Something that happened this year that I will always remember is my spring choir Disney Spectacular concert. I created so many fun memories with my friends, and the performance that we put on was amazing for not only the audience but for us as well,” said sophomore Karly Lopez. Many choir students enjoyed their time performing the Disney Spectacular show, along with the audience that enjoyed every second of it.

Every season, there are many sports for students to participate in. From football to soccer, many students here at OHS participate in sports every season, which helps them create memories and new friendships. “My favorite memory of soccer that I will miss from this season is all the team bonding and team dinners because it gives me time to hang out with my teammates outside of practice, and it helps us all become more connected,” said freshman Bella Smith. Soccer is an amazing sport to participate in here at OHS, with our JV and Varsity boys going undefeated this spring season and Varsity going on to districts!

This year, many students participated in a walk-out against ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) that led many students to stand up and use their voices for their families and people who might not be able to stand up for themselves. Freshman Giselle Escobar shared her favorite memory from the walk-out and some lessons she learned and would like to share with others; ” the ICE walk-out we had here at OHS was amazing because it helped us students gain leadership skills by using our voices to stand up for what we believe is right, I believe that our walk-out was for a good cause and I would love to have one again next school year!”

 Setting goals throughout the school year has been a great way for students to grow. With busy schedules and the constant pressure to succeed, it is easy for students to get overwhelmed. Because of this, some people find that their biggest successes were not just about grades, but about learning who they are. For example, sophomore Sarah Valentina felt a shift in her own life. “My biggest accomplishment this school year has been getting more in touch with myself and my well-being,” she said. Getting good grades is always something to be proud of, and for some students, it has become an accomplishment. “My biggest accomplishment this year was getting all straight A’s,” said junior Daniel Viera. 

On the other hand, Freshman Melanie Perez Pinto shares what she has improved throughout the year: ” I have improved with keeping up with my assignments and projects, and I’ve gotten better at managing my time.” Learning lessons is also part of succeeding and improving day by day. Sophomore Sarah Valentina shares with us her biggest lesson she learned throughout this 2026 school year.” The biggest lesson I’ve learned this school year is that you are at fault for your own actions, always take accountability.” Lessons like the ones Melanie and Sarah learned are both lessons that could be carried on for a lifetime!

“I’ll definitely miss the seniors and saying goodbye to them and also watching the girls light up when they do something well for the first time, they’re very heartwarming moments that I will for sure miss the most,” Ms. Sudduth shares how she will miss coaching and the strong, heartwarming connections she made with her seniors.  While teachers will miss their students, seniors are busy making their own unforgettable memories. Senior Rose McCusker shared her highlight of the year.”My favorite memory from prom is getting to dance and definitely winning prom queen and prom king with my boyfriend.” Prom is a major highlight for seniors, but younger students also form strong bonds at school. Sophomore Sarah Valentina talks about her favorite connection with a teacher in this school year she won’t forget. “The best memory I have with an adult here in the school is having great talks with Mrs.Castillo. Being in her class has been a blast.”

On the other hand, Ms. Sudduth talks about her opinion on how the new JLC connector opening has made an impact on the school year and how it has affected some sports.”I think it is both a good and a bad thing. I think you can get to class faster, but it affects the sports because it makes it further to get to the field due to certain parking.” Many students and teachers have different opinions about the connector, but overall, the new connector has been an exciting new addition to Osbourn High School this school year!

Junior Kayla Hollgan shares her advice to upcoming freshmen and other underclassmen on how they should aim for higher-level classes. “Advice I would give to other underclassmen  is to get involved in advanced classes like AP and get into dual enrollment.” From navigating new hallways to choosing the right academic path, everyday choices shape the school year. Learning to balance these challenges is a major part of the student journey.

Many students have enjoyed school lunches this year, from chicken sandwiches to salads to wraps and pizza, and students always have their favorite lunches. Senior, Yolanda Rosales said,                “Something I will miss from school after graduation would be the lunches and hanging out with my friends.” Many seniors are going to miss school lunches and breakfasts, just like Yolanda. 

 High school not only teaches you how to solve math problems or about what happened in the past, but it also teaches you life lessons that are something every person has to go through.  “Something I learned from high school is to keep my circle small and not involve myself in bad things or drama. I like having peace in my life,” said senior Yolanda Rosales. 

 Many of our seniors graduating this year have already decided which colleges they are looking forward to attending. Senior Rose McCusker said, ” My plan after graduation is to transfer to Virginia Tech and save some money to be economically stable.” Going to college always means bringing something with you, for Rose she has made many memories that she will remember as she goes on to college.  “A memory I will never forget is my cross-country senior night. It was so emotional for me, but also really fun. I had an amazing time,” said senior Rose McCusker. 

 A lot of students’ motivation to come to school is to hang out with friends and have a good time. Freshman Brianna Mira said, “Something I will miss from school in the summer will be hanging out with friends all day long and having fun and laughing a lot and being with my favorite teachers, having a good time.” 

Everyone has a favorite teacher who teaches them amazing life lessons. “My favorite teacher is Mr. Ball because he lets me go into his class whenever  I want or need help, and he has a good way to teach, and he always makes his students understand what he is teaching. He explains it really well, and he is a really patient person,” said freshman Brianna Mira. Sophomore, Brianna Paz said,  “My favorite teacher/coach is Coach K because she is sweet, patient, and she always motivates me to do better in everything. She always believes in me .”

Many seniors of the graduating class of 2026 have family or friends who are underclassmen or are still in primary school. Senior Maya Mira shared some words of advice for underclassmen or kids who might be scared of high school. “Something that I would like to tell underclassmen is if you’re going to do something, whether it’s a sport or club, do it for yourself and not for others, and just enjoy these four years as much as you can.” Along with Maya, senior, Rose McCusker said, “A piece of advice I would like to give out to an underclassman is to focus on yourself and don’t let others get to you, always believe in yourself, and having a good mindset is the key to success”.
