Fosters Grille is a local restaurant located in Old Town Manassas that operates a lot differently than most restaurants. The warm and friendly atmosphere of this mostly well-reviewed restaurant is very attractive to the locals of Manassas.

Upon walking into the restaurant, we were welcomed with not a smile but more so a friendly attitude. We were then instructed by a waitress to grab a ticket to fill out our orders manually. We then gave it to the waitress to pay, and she then double checked our order to make sure it was to our liking. After we sat anywhere we wanted to, our waitress soon came by with my food. She checked in on us twice within our 1-hour stay and was very speedy. Our food took 11 minutes, as it was barely busy.

When it came to choosing where we sat, we got seats indoors next to windows with nice scenery. Since we went on a weekday, it was not crowded at all, although on weekends the restaurant will most likely fill up more. There were lots of seating options, which consisted of bar-height tables with stools that had enough room for parties of two. There is also outside seating and a section of the restaurant dedicated to seating booths for parties that include more people. 

Foster’s grille has a very old, rustic, American style to it. Most of the chairs and tables inside are made out of wood, which gives them a homey feel. The place was relatively clean, and our table had a shiny look to it, which told us they had wiped the tables down previously.

I, Adriana, ordered a Philly cheesesteak that was approximately $9 dollars. My cheesesteak was very stuffed, the bread was untoasted, and the cheese was melted. I also got a basket of fries that was $7 dollars, which was very crispy and salted. Lastly, I ordered a chocolate milkshake for $6.50 dollars that had a very thick consistency.

I, Gabriella, had ordered a ¼ pound hotdog, a half-basket of onion rings, and a vanilla milkshake. The hot dog was overall pretty messy because the untoasted bun was very big and did not have an even ratio with the actual hot dog. The amount of food did not leave me satisfied, but in the end, the hot dog was still tasty. The condiments I chose to add, which included mustard, ketchup, and relish, also seemed to be kept to a minimum. My onion rings were very wide and as crispy as they could have been. The milkshake that I ordered was so refreshing, and the consistency was very thick, so the straw they provided was useless.

The pricing was fair in our opinion since the food came in big servings, and we both paid for ourselves. Gabriella’s meal came out to around $26, including tax, and Adriana’s meal came out to around $22. 

For the most part, Fosters Grille is a well-rounded restaurant with fairly good food, friendly staff members, and an old, rustic environment, nothing more and nothing less. We had a memorable and favorable time at this restaurant that’ll make us visit again.
