The winter holidays are around the corner and Osbourn students are excited for them!

For students, getting the best gifts and giving the best ones are topics on their minds. So, what are the hot items for Christmas or Hanukkah? Students we talked to seem to like shoes, clothes, and money. Trends on social media have influenced many high schoolers on what they want.

When it comes to getting gifts, you always have to have a favorite. It can be something big, or something that comes from the heart. “I got an electric guitar for the holidays. I feel like that was my best present,” said sophomore Rose McCusker.

“The best gift I’ve gotten was a record player,” said sophomore Melody Hart.

It takes a lot of time and effort to pick out what you want. Sometimes there are so many options you need to prepare beforehand. “I think of stuff before because I want to make sure I know exactly what I want,” said Vidal. Other students plan right around the corner. “I never have time to plan out what I want so I just do it in the moment,” said freshman Cesia Gonzalez.

There are different opinions on getting gifts. “I like receiving gifts because I don’t ever have any money, but I also just like to be spoiled with presents,” said freshman DeSeane’ Davis.

Other students like to do both. “I like giving and receiving presents because I like to see people happy with their gifts. I also want to be happy with my gifts,” said sophomore Kayla Jimenez.

OHS students have their wish lists planned out for the holidays! “My wish list for the holiday is AirPods Max, an Eiffel Tower Lego set, and key chains,” said freshman Graidys Rivera.

“I want UGGs, candles, perfume, jewelry, and clothes,” said freshman Daviana Vidal.

“For Christmas I want Birkenstocks and an Ipad,” said sophomore Jayda Vieyra.

“I want FIFA 24 and Jordans,” said Jimenez.
