Starting after spring break, students MUST have their ID badge to get into the bathroom and lunch.
This has always been the process, but we’ve had some leniency as we issued badges to students. At this point, every student who has completed the form to request a badge has received one, so we are ready to go!
Students who forget their ID should go to one of the following locations to sign out a temporary badge.
Main Office
Connector Office 101 (Mrs. Espinoza)
We encourage students to do this at the start of the day once they realize they forgot their badge, but they may go between classes or at the discretion of their 1st block teacher.
They will use the temporary badge to gain access to the bathrooms and lunch, and then return it at the end of the day to either location.
If they don’t return their pass, they will be called down by administration for consequences.
Also, if they forget their badge more than 3 times, they will also begin receiving school-based consequences, so keep those ID badges in your backpacks so that you don’t forget!

I think the ID badge policy is neither good nor bad for me; it’s a bit annoying and inconvenient at times, especially when it first began, but now I just remember to keep it in a secure pocket in my bag so I don’t have to worry about forgetting it. It’s a pretty easy thing to remember, and I haven’t really struggled with it.

I understand why they are doing this. Many people skip and go to different lunches. I just hate when I forget my ID since it takes so long to be able to go into the lunch room so I try to always remember it.

I think that the ID policy is a good thing but some students are too stressed out about more important work and they forget to bring their IDs. I think there shouldn’t be consequences just because you don’t bring your ID. I do think that they should get more chances instead of 3 it should be 5 .

I like how Informative this article is because I didn’t know what to do if I didn’t have my badge I often forget where my badge is and now I know what happens or what to do if I lose it again

This policy is not really fair, punishing students because they forget is not teaching the right lesson and will become stressful.

I think the ID badge policy is a little frustrating but it makes a little bit of sense to stop students from skipping, but I don’t understand why we need it to go to the bathroom. Why do staff of OHS need to track how many times students use the bathroom? Also, us needing the ID badges for lunch is a little chaotic because there is always a long line and it takes up our time for lunch.

I do not think the policy is really fair, as some students are forgetful and punishing them for that is not good. I do think everyone should be trying to get in the habit of putting their ID in their backpack though, that’s what I do after I get into the lunchroom every day.

I forget my ID sometimes, so it’s good they have the table. You can get an index card so you can get in to lunch.

I understand why they did this, but I don’t usually bring my badge to the bathroom because they stopped asking for it. I always bring my ID to lunch, though since they implemented it.

I have to remember my ID badge so I can go to the bathroom and have lunch. If I forget it, I have to go to the Main Office to get a temporary one. I will make sure to keep it in my backpack so I don’t get in trouble.

I think this new ID badge policy makes sense, but it might be a little stressful for students who accidentally forget sometimes. I’ve forgotten important things before, so I know it can happen even if you’re trying to stay organized. I like that the school gives temporary badges, but maybe they could give a small reminder in the morning to help students remember.
