On December 12, 174 Attendance All-Stars from Osbourn High School were invited to a special celebration event. The students received invitations to go to the cafeteria to enjoy snacks and exciting activities, including karaoke, board games, and a feature movie presentation.
To qualify, students had to attend school every day and be on time to every class for the entire first quarter.
According to Dean of Students, Ms. Carla Browning, the All-Star Attendance Celebration was made possible by the collective efforts of our students, staff, and school community working together. “We want to see our students thrive, reaching their full potential by graduating on time with a plan for after high school that they are personally proud of,” Browning explained.
The connection between good attendance habits and academic success should be obvious to both educators and students.
“When students show up consistently, they build the knowledge, skills, and habits that prepare them for graduation, career opportunities, and life beyond school. Regular attendance helps students stay connected to their teachers, peers, and the school community, which supports both academic growth and emotional well-being,” Browning stated.
The event was successful, and students were enthusiastic about attending.
“I am looking forward to enjoying the food, because I love wings!” said freshman Bella Lopez.
“The games are fun, but I am really excited about the snacks,” added freshman Jazmin Mira.
The Glory Days Grill in Manassas sponsored this event by providing chicken wings and hamburger sliders as well as coupons for the students attending the All-Star Celebration.
The overall goal of the event was to honor students for being responsible scholars who show up to school regularly and on time. In many cases, students are positively influenced by family members to value their time in the classroom.
“It was easy for me to keep up my attendance because my Mom encouraged it,” explained freshman Estella Mendza.
Freshman Guyliana Ilombo agreed that family members can be motivating. “My Mom definitely encourages me to show up every day!”
“My Uncle and Aunt told me all about the awards they got in high school, and it inspired me to be like them,” said freshman Brittani Morales Finical.
At the end of the event, the honorees were grateful for the opportunity to celebrate during the school day.
“We got to feel appreciated and enjoy some downtime and some good food with our friends,” said freshman Brenda Gudino.
“The All-Star Attendance Celebration was a tremendous success, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and support to make the event so special for our students. From planning and preparation to execution and encouragement, this celebration truly reflected our shared commitment to recognizing positive attendance and student achievement. Thank you to our entire school community for coming together to make this meaningful experience possible,” commented Browning.

I went to this event with my sister and I had a ton of fun. I didn’t actually participate in any of the games they had out, but it was nice to have a break from classes for a bit. The food was also really good!

it’s awesome that Osbourn rewarded the 174 Attendance All-Stars with such a cool event! Even though I didn’t get to go, hearing about the karaoke, movies, and especially the food from Glory Days Grill makes me want to make sure I’m on time to every class next quarter.

I loved the event so much! I show up to school because I love seeing my friends and I want to see myself achieve my goals. I enjoyed hanging out with my friends at this event, and I had so much fun.
