From casual to formal clothes, today’s high school hallways are a runway of self-expression where every student’s outfit tells a story. There are many different students at Osbourn who have different styles from each other and get ready differently.
Marshall Lopez said, “It takes me 10-20 minutes to choose my outfit.” Charlotte Vargas said, “I choose my outfit the night before, preparing based on what classes I’ll have. Like if I have PE and we are expected to go outside, I’ll wear layers of clothing, but if it’s a day that in my classes I just have to do work, I’ll choose something comfy, but if I have a presentation, I’ll dress more professionally.” Fatima Mohamed said, “I usually just get an idea in my head of what I want my outfit to look like, and then pick out the clothes and try them on. If it looks wrong, I try to pick out a different pair of whatever didn’t match.”
There are many different styles in the world, with a great variety at OHS. Fatima said, “I would describe my style as comfortable.” Manuel Hernandez said, “My style is clean.” Charlotte said, “I like wearing cutesy things, flowy shirts, and flared pants. I also love patterns.” Emilia Rivera said, “I like wearing baggy clothes, that is my favorite style.”
Most people say that the most fun part about clothes is being able to shop for them. Manuel said, “I get new clothes really often, about 4 times a week, and I normally shop at Hollister and Pacsun.” Marshall says, “I buy everything from Hollister and get new stuff once a month.” Charlotte said, “I go to malls and get stuff at Aeropostale, Hollister, American Eagle, and cute clothes off of Depop. I usually buy new clothes every break, like Thanksgiving break and winter break.” Fatima says, “I usually buy new clothes every 4-5 months and just go in person to shop.” Emilia says, “I like to shop at the mall and thrift stores like Ross and Marshalls. I usually get new clothes like every 3 weeks, it depends on my mood though.”
When picking out an outfit, do you prioritize comfort or are you focused more on style? “I’d choose style over comfort because I need to look amazing for everybody, and I do not wanna show trashy style,” said Marshall.”
“I feel comfort is way more important. I don’t want to be uncomfortable while learning,” said Charlotte. Fatima said, “I feel comfort is more important, but at the same time I do want style in it because I don’t want a comfortable outfit that doesn’t match, so definitely some of both.”
We all have that one item we can’t live without. Emilia said, “My favorite pieces of clothing are my jeans and sweaters because they are really comfortable and useful in the winter.” Charlotte said, “My favorite pieces of clothing would have to be my top that is black and blue, because I not only love it, but I always get compliments, and that makes my day better.” Marshall said, “I love all my jackets so much.”
From planned preparation the night before to last-minute adjustments, the students of Osbourn High School demonstrate that personal style is important to the individuals themselves. Whether seeking comfort in a favorite pair of jeans or confidence in a loved top, each student ultimately uses their wardrobe to navigate their day and express their personality.

I always choose my weekly outfits on Sunday. It’s nice to have one less thing to worry about in the morning. I try to pick outfits that will help me with my day. If I know I’m taking a test on Thursday, I won’t wear itchy or if I have gym on Monday, then I’ll wear something I can move in. My favorite article of clothing are my jeans. They’re just so easy to dress up and dress down.

I usually get my stuff online because I don’t like shopping in store. Sometimes, I’ll get my stuff from Kohl’s, though.
