Jayda Vieyra said, “I thought that senior year would be the easiest, knowing that we have completed all of the things we need during the first three years, such as SOLs.”

Some also believe that teachers will go easier on seniors because it’s their final year of high school. Kayla Aforka mentioned, “I was expecting senior year to be really chill but still stressful since it is our last.” Many also imagine forming strong friendships and enjoying their last moments together. Adrianna White explained, “I thought senior year would be the best year out of all four from having bonds with teachers and knowing everyone.” However, the reality is that senior year can be more demanding than expected, filled with responsibilities, deadlines, and preparation for life after graduation.

One of the most stressful parts of being a senior is trying to keep up with grades while also thinking about the future. Many students feel pressure to stay focused in class while filling out college or job applications at the same time. Jayda Vieyra shared, “I feel like the most stressful part would be applying for colleges and not having a full chance of getting accepted.”

Another major stress comes from deciding what to do after graduation. Amyah Hill explained, “The most stressful part about being a senior is finding something you would want to do as a career and stick with it.” Balancing school, work, and personal life adds even more challenges, especially when seniors try to make time for friends and family. On top of everything, there is also pressure to enjoy the year and make lasting memories before it ends. All these responsibilities can make senior year feel exciting but also overwhelming.

Even with the stress and responsibilities, senior year at Osbourn High School also has many fun and memorable moments. One of the highlights for students is homecoming. Saleisha Chirinos said, “The best part of senior year has been homecoming. I had a great time with my friends and dressed up cute.”

Spirit week is another exciting part of the year, giving students a chance to show their creativity and school spirit. Adrianna White shared, “The most fun I’ve had this year would be spirit week, being dressed up, and seeing others with funny outfits.” These events allow seniors to enjoy their final year together and create lasting memories while celebrating school traditions.

When Osbourn High School seniors look back on their final year, many will remember both the challenges and the fun times. The memories of spending time with friends, attending school events, and celebrating traditions often stand out the most. Kayla Aforka said, “I would remember the students that I grew up with and my best friends.” Even the stressful moments, like balancing schoolwork and preparing for the future, become important experiences that shape growth and maturity. These combined experiences of laughter, excitement, and hard work are what make senior year unforgettable.
