From the beginning to the end of the year, seniors had a lot on their minds. Most are worried about graduating and going to the college they desire and some are progressing in their small businesses or considering joining the military. This year at Osbourn High School we had a total of 564 seniors!
College can be one of the most stressful decisions for students. It seems like you have to choose your entire future right then and there, it can even be stressful picking out a major. You want to make sure it’s the one that you think is best for you! I asked a few students what college they would be attending and here is what I found out.
” I will be going to Wayne state University in Detroit Michigan, and I will be majoring in broadcast journalism.” said Gabby Thigpen.
” I will be going to Nova University, I am going to get a two year degree first at Nova and then I’ll be transferring to a bigger college after that.” Said Isai Parada.
“I am going into the honors college at the University of Arizona on a full ride scholarship,” said Kaya Graham.
“I will be playing D3 soccer at Kenyon College and pushing an environmental science major. I’ll be honest, the recruiting process for me was really difficult. You face rejection after rejection and it’s exhausting. However, I am so thankful for it because it landed me with a team that I am so excited to join. I am so excited to start a new chapter!” said Nina Nicoletti.
Leaving high school is a big change especially if moving far from family members, friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, etc. This is a new start for the seniors’ adulthood to begin, and to succeed in the future with what they desire.
“I will miss my teachers the most, I loved a lot of them and how they pushed me to be better as a student and a better person going into the world,” said Gabby.
“Most definitely what I will miss most is being under the same roof as all my friends one last time, and being able to sell food throughout the year and make those who buy it happy,” said Isai.
“What I will miss most is being with my friends all together; I will also miss my teachers who helped me through high school,” said Aylani.
“I have spent four years on the soccer team, and while I’m excited to go on to new things, it’s sad to see it go. Most of all, I’m really going to miss the girls and all the support they have given me,” said Nina.
Congratulations, seniors!
