Suitor Armor is a romantasy graphic novel series that first originated from Webtoon. Written by Purpah, the series will have you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next chapter to come out. Our main character, Lady Lucia, was found in the forest on a stormy night as a child by King Goldborne. She was covered in a blanket, and her long, burgundy coiled hair was soaked with rain. When the King returns to his castle, his daughter, Princess Kirsi, is at first skeptical of Lucia, but soon accepts her as a lady-in-waiting for her future wedding to Prince Reimund.

In the present, the girls have grown up and gathered their own personalities. While Kirsi is more fun, Lucia turns out to be more responsible; nevertheless, they are best friends and today, are going to a knight tournament. This tournament is so Kirsi can properly meet Prince, now King Reimund. As her Lady-in-waiting, Lucia must go with her. The reason why Kirsi has not been able to meet Reimund is that he has been busy with the century-old war between humans and fairies. Fairies have sharp ears, wings, and most importantly, lots of magic. Fairy magic comes from their wings, and some fairies are incredibly powerful. Most humans are afraid of magic, and most humans are afraid of fairies. Now let me tell you a secret, Lucia is a fairy, that night when King Goldborne found her, he covered her wings with the blanket and hid her ears behind her hair. Now, to hide her wings, she has a special corset-like article and has continued to grow her hair to hide her ears.

At the tournament, King Reimund is seated with a person named Norrix. Known as a mage, he uses books and items to cast spells. Fascinated by this, Lucia goes and talks to Norrix about how magic works and what he can do with it. King Reimund explains that Lucia will be able to see Norrix’s work in action and asks Norrix about “The Warrior” that was promised to him, which he soon after summons. The Warrior is fully made of metal armor with one red eye and horns. While Kirsi is unsettled by its appearance, Lucia is enamored by it. King Reimund decides to put the thing to the test by having it go against their Knight champion, Sir Baynard. Lucia leaves their royal seating to go get a better look at the metal knight. While watching them fight, she talks to a person who explains how Baynard has been undefeated for a long time and how he has gathered a rather large ego. He might not realize that he might not be able to beat this opponent. Although Sir Baynard is fighting well to defeat an ordinary knight, this knight was not ordinary. The knight was incredibly strong and had no weak points. When they were fighting, Baynard was almost killed before he was forced to forfeit the fight.

Along with winning the tournament, the knight gets a white rose that, when he gives it to a lady, they are to be wed. King Reimund, amused that it can now choose a bride, lets it. Although most of the other women are scared of the knight, one is not, Lucia; she is still watching it and is somewhat flattered when it gives her the rose.

Now, on to my opinions on the series. First of all, the story is amazing. It makes sense and ties together. The further you read the story you can really see all the signs with Purpauh’s amazing foreshadowing. Second is the beautiful art. Purpah spends hours drawing and coloring each panel, and it really shows. The art is cute and still shows so much emotion, and even though all of the characters are in the same style, they all look so unique, and you can tell their personality by looking at them. Personally, while I enjoy reading the series on the app, no app can ever compare to a hand-held book. As of October 9th, 2025, the series has been on hiatus due to the end of season three. I predict Suitor Armor to return in February of 2026 because of the other four-month breaks between other seasons. The series is really good, and if you like fantasy, romance, and drama, this series is just for you!
