The Osbourn football team had a very great start for their 2024 season after going 2-8 last season things were rough for the football team. But with a new coaching staff and a bigger class for 2025 we have notable names like Andrew Funk, Khamoni Morris, Edward Hogan Jr, Elijah Armstead, Zamarion Williams, Kiajae Lewis, Corey Hill, and a ton more seniors. The football team started the season off with a win against the hard-knocking South Lakes going 10-1 last season the Eagles managed to pull off a great win getting a get back and winning the game 38-21 against the Seahawks.
With the 2024 season still being fresh Osbourn’s football team still has things they need to work on but also has improved since last season “We have gotten a lot better since last year as working as a team and got great new additions to our team I feel great pride playing for the eagles,” said Senior Rodney Henderson smith Varsity H-back.
But not only that, the team as a unit has also changed to help the football team improve even more. “Us as a unit is that we are very good and all of us are in sync. We also have determination and it has become way better since last season,” said junior Jackson Christiansen varsity linebacker. With this season still going on the Eagles are coming in the season way harder than last year.
But not everything can go the way the Eagles want them to. There are still some things that need to be fixed for the Eagles to make the playoffs. The Eagles still need more self-discipline as flags are getting thrown in games for offsides and other penalties. “We need more self-discipline, stop having the coaches discipline us, don’t rely on the coaches we must rely on ourselves,” said senior Tristian Cruz, varsity offensive/defensive line. Adding on to the discipline other players can agree to the same factor. “As much as we were a decent team coming off of last season. I think we still need to work on being disciplined as a team so we can really get together to win more games,” said Christiansen. The Osbourn football team has great success coming their way if the team can achieve their goals and fix the mental errors the team can go a very long way for this season.
As much as the football season ends with a bunch of seniors leaving and a big class of ‘25 packed with 22 senior players the coaches want to see great success coming to them for their future. The coaching staff wants straight greatness for the players. “Seeing all the kids graduate and seeing the kids I coached grow into grown men is the best part about coaching,” said offensive coordinator Mike Copeland.
Not only is football a sport, but it also helps athletes mentally. Coaches want kids to do well in their classes and be good to all their teachers and in the hallways. They even want them to get their work done. “Do right to football, football do right to you,” said Copeland. The quote means if you do good to football it will do good to you, your life, your academics, and to you physically.
Good luck to the OHS football team this season! Go Eagles.

Love the way the offensive coordinator said his favorite part about coaching is watching the boys he coached grow into men. so sweet!

wow, this article was written very well and did a good job from talking about the past for what they fixed to the future to what they still need to fix. this was some good dedication and I think your first article was spot on.

I am not really an athletic person but this article makes me feel like I can become athletic if I really tried. Mike Copeland’s quotes really show the passion the people have for their game and I’m kind of jealous. Osbourn seems like it’s gonna have a good year in football too!

I’m so happy that the Osbourn football team has gotten better! Even if they still need to improve, I believe that the team will have a great year! If I can, I will go to the football games whenever there is one!

I don’t go to many games, but I feel as if the Osbourn football team is doing pretty decent. I think that the Osbourn team will do pretty good on their next games.

I think you did a really good job on shifting from what the Eagles have improved on, to what they need to improve on.
