OHS was looking purple for a day in a heartwarming celebration of Kindness Week! Organized by PBIS and Positive Change Ambassadors. This year’s festivities were extra special thanks to collaboration with Ms. Megan Barbour’s Adapted Curriculum class and SCA Leadership students.
Here’s how we spread kindness: The Adapted Curriculum class, with the help of SCA Leadership students handcrafted and assembled beautiful purple flowers. These weren’t just decorations – they were symbols of kindness worn with pride by students and staff members on Spirit Day, February 13th!
During lunches, the festivities kicked up a notch with engaging games organized by the Positive Change Ambassadors. Laughter and smiles filled the air as students bonded and strengthened their connections.
More than just fun, Kindness Week reminds us that small acts of kindness have a powerful ripple effect. They make our school, community, and families kinder, safer, healthier, and more inclusive places for everyone.
Kindness Week was well- planned and was enjoyed by most students.
“I had a lot of fun. I think that the bike races were the most popular activity! My favorite game was cup pong,” said senior Brayden Weeks.
” I enjoyed helping out with the games. It was exciting and collaborative with lots of students. I had fun!” said senior Claudia Flores.
“It was a fun week! Cup pong was the best,” said senior Reed Wilsher.
“Planning and being left in charge of Kindness Day was a lot of pressure, but it turned out just right! Lots of people had fun and it was a day to remember,” said senior Pamela Drewry.
” I enjoyed playing the games during lunch. Kindness week is good because people wear bright colors and do nice things,” commented Dominick Angulo.
“I enjoyed playing musical chairs with my friends and just watching everyone participate in all the activities,” said Arianna Eaddy.
“Kindness day brought everyone together to have fun!” added Adel Awo.
