The release of Despicable Me in 2015 took the world by storm. After making more than 543 billion dollars at the box office, the movie was adored by kids and adults alike. It was followed by three more movies and three spinoffs; one of which was Minions.

Minions follows the yellow little sidekicks of Gru. They’re bright yellow, wear overalls, and speak in a sort of gibberish language. People love minions. A trend in 2022 was to dress in suits and take over 20 people to watch the new Minions movie. People were even bringing bananas and buying out theaters!

This new Minion craze is what inspired the first day of the 2022 homecoming spirit week; Minion Day.
