Thanksgiving is almost here! It’s a time for yummy food, family fun, and sharing what we’re thankful for. I interviewed five of my friends from OHS to hear about their favorite things for Thanksgiving.
The first person I talked to was Marshall Lopez. His favorite Thanksgiving food is macaroni and cheese because he loves eating it with his family. He said, “I love eating this dish with my family and spending time with them. We also sometimes make pupusas or other Hispanic foods, and instead of turkey, we eat chicken.” Marshall said he loves Thanksgiving because it’s all about spending time with loved ones.
Next, I interviewed Ashley Martinez. I asked if she was ready for Thanksgiving and what she was thankful for. She said, “I’m so ready for Thanksgiving and staying with my family all day, talking and laughing. I’m grateful for my family because they are always there for me.” She also said she loves sitting next to her nephews because they are fun and make her happy.
The third person I talked to was Allison Hernandez. Her favorite dessert is her mom’s apple pie. She said, “It’s so good I could eat it all day, and I’m thankful my mom makes yummy food for Thanksgiving.” She also said she likes watching the Macy’s Parade on TV and playing board games with her family because it’s always full of laughter and fun.
The fourth person I interviewed was Lisbeth Espinoza. She said she likes to visit her family, eat, and talk with them on Thanksgiving. When I asked what Thanksgiving means to her, she said, “It means being thankful for the ones around you and enjoying the time you have with them.” She also shared that her family cooks many delicious foods like pan con pollo, tamales, and fruit salad.
The last person I interviewed was Kathy Rios. She said, “What makes Thanksgiving special for me is my family. They mean a lot to me, and without them, Thanksgiving wouldn’t be the same.” Her favorite Thanksgiving memory is playing games and laughing with her family and friends. She also said her siblings play trivia on Thanksgiving, and whoever gets the most points wins the biggest slice of apple pie!
I really enjoyed interviewing my friends and hearing about their Thanksgiving traditions. It’s such a special time to be thankful and spend time with family and friends.
