Lady Gaga is an American singer who gained recognition in 2008 with her debut album The Fame. Since then, she’s created six more albums, gone on tour eight times, and has even performed at Coachella and on Saturday Night Live. I first became a fan of Gaga several years ago, when I would listen to songs of hers like Bad Romance and Applause. Through her style and uniqueness, Lady Gaga inspires many worldwide to be themselves.
Lady Gaga’s highly anticipated seventh studio album Mayhem was released on March 7, 2025. It has 14 tracks, including the famous Die With A Smile, featuring Bruno Mars. Many fans have noted that the album is almost like a throwback to her original style, which was more edgy and unusual than the pop music of that era. The new album was so incredible; it was hard to narrow down to a select few, but here are my top 5 songs of Lady Gaga’s Mayhem.
5. Abracadabra
With over 300 million streams on Spotify, Abracadabra is the second most popular track from the album after Die With A Smile, which has over 2 billion. Abracadabra is a fast electropop song with references to magic. Many fans would probably consider this one of the best songs from the album, but it’s only my fifth favorite because it’s been overplayed.
4. Perfect Celebrity
Perfect Celebrity is an electropop song with a gritty sound, originally supposed to be electro grunge. Lady Gaga has talked about how the song is her reflection on her regrets about becoming famous and the toll fame takes on a person. As stated by The New York Times, after recording this song, Gaga had briefly considered making the whole album grunge, so this song is the closest representation of that style on the album.
3. Zombieboy
Zombieboy is a disco song that starts with chanting, and then it jumps into sounds reminiscent of the 1970s. The track combines horror and romantic themes with her references to zombies and relationships. Lady Gaga has confirmed that this song is about her late friend, Rick Genest (also known as Zombie Boy), who appeared in her Born This Way music video in 2011. If you’re looking for a song from Mayhem to dance to, this one’s for you.
2. Garden of Eden
Garden of Eden is an electro song about making bad decisions and giving in to feelings, much like Eve did in the Bible, thus the name of the song. There are many biblical references throughout the song, and Gaga’s character can be interpreted as the serpent, a form that Lucifer takes to lure Eve into eating the forbidden fruit. It’s a very upbeat track that perfectly fits into the vibe of the album as a whole.
1. Vanish Into You
As reported by Billboard, Vanish Into You is a glam rock song inspired by David Bowie about her having an attachment and longing for someone. Many fans of Lady Gaga will notice how the song is reminiscent of her 2009 song Bad Romance. For example, when Gaga sings “Can I vanish into you?”, it is evocative of the sections of Bad Romance where she sings “Oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh, caught in a bad romance”. Overall, this song is my favorite from the album because of its lyricism and nostalgic feel.
Altogether, Mayhem is the perfect mix of early Lady Gaga, but with fresh, innovative ideas and new sounds. I strongly believe that this album is among her best, and each song offers something enjoyable and is worth listening to. If you like Lady Gaga, or even if you don’t, you should give this album a try.

I honestly don’t remember the last time I heard a lady Gaga song. I feel like around 2017 she was really popular and her songs would play in a lot of stores while shopping. Now I only ever hear her if someone uses her song in a TikTok video or if I look up the song myself.

I’ve known about Lady Gaga for a while now. I never knew she released an album recently. With how this article describes it it seems really good! I might give it a listen when I get home.

Die With a Smile should’ve not been in the album and just be a standalone single. Though people think it was a perfect fit in the album, I think it is better if it wasn’t in the album.

I’m not a big Lady Gaga fan, but I think her album was actually okay. I really enjoy her old music, though.

I see myself listening to Garden of Eden. I find it very fascinating how the song consists of multiple references to the Bible and the events that occur in the Bible. I might consider listening to this if I have some free time!
