High school, you know what that means? Growing teenage kids going through puberty! Puberty is known for the skin issues it causes.
With that, have you ever walked in the hallway or sat for lunch looking at someone and thought “Just what is their skincare routine?” Well, here are your answers!
Some people avoid certain types of products because they tend to break their skin out, giving them red pimples, or even leaving them with acne scars. This can make it look like your skin is bad, even though you tried so hard to clear it. “I feel like Neutrogena breaks me out because my skin feels so rough and irritated the next day,” said Janail Bullock.
Easton Peterson said, “Cetaphil daily facial lotion breaks me out so badly. Everyone says that it’s good but it’s literally one of the worst things I ever put on my skin.”
Some scholars even avoid a whole step.”Toner definitely breaks me out. I feel my skin just isn’t right for it because no matter which toner, it’s always irritating my skin,” said Munyrathana Kong.
However, some swear on certain products, some people even calling them holy grail products. Easton favors Vaseline. “I, for sure, absolutely love Vaseline. I think it helps keep my skin clear and it feels nice on my face when I’m slugging,” she said.
Munyrathana appreciates an acne gel. “The best product ever is the Differin acne gel. It works for me so well, I love it,” she explained.
Other than ‘good’ or ‘bad’ products, the order in which you put your skincare products on, also affects your skin. Usually, people follow the order of, firstly a cleanser, then a toner, in some instances a serum or oil, and lastly a moisturizer. However, others have specific techniques, such as Munyrathana. “I just double cleanse with CeraVe acne wash, then Differin acne gel, and lastly the CeraVe nighttime moisturizer.”
Some people change their routine for when they are specifically breaking out. “I just use a random cleanser and toner, but when I am breaking out, I use a little bit of salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide on my trouble areas,” said Sandy Doris Huinac Barrios.
Even something as small as water can have an effect on your skin, with some Eagles using it to their advantage. “I first cleanse with water and just a facial soap, then I soak with cold water or ice for around 15 seconds, and lastly I use a CeraVe moisturizer and a face oil,” said Kayla Contreras Reyes.
However, some people use little to no product, and their skin is still clear. “I just use CeraVe acne wash, and then I follow it up with a CeraVe moisturizer,” said Janail Bullock.
“I don’t have to worry about my skin. I just use water and sleep a lot and it almost never breaks out,” said Kimberly Fuentes.
Others have complex step-after-step routines. “I first use a Cetaphil face wash, then I double cleanse with the Differin acne wash. After that, I put on CeraVe toner, next CeraVe moisturizer for dry skin, and after that I use a sunscreen stick. I also like to slug with Vaseline,” explained Munyrathana.
Complex or not, what is your skincare routine? Does it work? Tell us in the comments!

My first step in my skincare routine is I wash my face with the CeraVe acne control cleanser, then I go in with e.l.f. pure skin toner. After I use the CeraVe daily moisturizing lotion and then use the e.l.f Holy hydration eye cream. Then I use lash serum by the ordinary and lastly I use a Neutrogena sunscreen with the e.l.f bronzing drops in the shade cooper gold.

What I normally use is the CeraVe acne control cleanser and it has actually helped me a lot with my acne. After I wash my face I used the CeraVe moisturizer and that’s all I really use.

I don’t really do skincare, but after reading this article, I would be interested in trying it.

I use a special type of cream that I don’t know the name of but it really helps with my nose because I have these black dots on my nose that I was trying to get rid of. I got that special type of facial cream at the Potamic Mills Mall.

I personally don’t use skincare because it’s already hard enough to wake up to start my day. Although if I do ever get into it for whatever reason I’ll follow this article for ideas

Skin care’s really important. I try to remember to wash my face at least everyday. Sometimes I use miscellaneous products that I find in the bathroom cabinet, lol

I don’t usually have time to do my skincare in the morning, but I do have a nighttime skincare routine. First, I use CeraVe Cleanser then I apply CeraVe acne control gel and finally moisturizer.

I struggle with acne so much and my cousin has recommended me so many products to use as well. CeraVe made me breakout so bad and it was just not useful for my skin anymore so I quit and moved to PanOxyl, it’s helping a bit and does give you some pretty awesome results. I tend to use the Differin acne gel as well, does help a lot but I also try to use pimple patches on the ones that need to be taken cared of most.

I usually don’t have time for a skincare routine but it’s nice to know what other people do.

I don’t have a skincare routine because my skin doesn’t really need it. But it’s so interesting seeing all the products that students use! I find it very fascinating how other products can work for one person but not the other!

I never really figured out a routine that works best for me, but it’s nice to hear some individuals use some of the products I’ve tried… Personally my skin always varies, sometimes my skin is really clear but I’ll randomly break out. I think skin care definitely relies on your knowledge of your skin and how well you know it. Not every wash is going to work on everybody’s skin and I think this article shows this beautifully.

I don’t have a skincare. I don’t wake up early enough for it and I never have time anyways. Curly hair is difficult enough.
