The remainder of 2022 and the entirety of 2023 have loads of content in store for the gaming community, from upcoming games to DLCs (downloadable content), as well as movies and huge updates. Video games can bring people together from all over the world and form friendships like no other. People are excited for titles such as God of War Ragnarök, Fifa 23, Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.

God of War Ragnarök is the upcoming sequel to the game God of War. In this game you play as Kratos, a spartan who climbed mount Olympus in a rage at the gods and slayed any foe in his way be it man or God. you are also accompanied by his son Atreus who was revealed in the first game to be Loki.

“The last God of War was super good, I enjoyed the story and the gameplay looked incredible. I’m really excited to see the new characters and the new combat mechanics as well as the story development and how the new characters will interact upon meeting each other,” said senior Michael Juarez-Sesam.

“I would love to see the fight between Kratos and Thor and how Atreus is grown up,” said junior Isaiah Lloyd. “I’m excited about all the new mechanics and graphics since this will be my first God of War game. I think I will really enjoy the game and story.”

Fifa 23 is a Football (soccer) game that uses current and old players as well as real teams. You are able to build your own team to your own preference. You can play online against other people or play alone against AI. You have to focus on building your team’s chemistry and ratings, though!

“I am obviously looking forward to the new Fifa since this will be the last time it will be called Fifa,” stated Edsel Pineda. “There will be new mechanics to the game like the system for power shooting, which is really dumb and broken. I don’t expect much since the past Fifas have not been the best. They always have bugs and glitches but hopefully, this one will be better than the last few that have been released.”

Modern Warfare 2 is a realistic military game that tests your reaction speed and teamwork. It takes place in a modern setting and uses some real events as a foothold for their campaign mode. Warzone 2 is a game that uses the same engine as Modern Warfare 2 but is considered a separate game by most players. It’s a battle royal where you must be the last person standing.

“I’m excited because Warzone 2 will be taking a different approach to the battle royal genre as well as the mechanics in the game,” said Jayro Leiva.

“I’m excited for all the new graphic updates and how this game should play out. Modern Warfare 2 is taking a whole new approach to the Call of Duty franchise. I really think this one will be better than the last two games,” said sophomore Derek Vargas.
