If you missed our shows earlier this week, welcome! We are so glad you are here today!

We are here every day at 10:00 to bring you the day’s important information.

Our show is an ongoing project for our Broadcast Journalism class, so as the year goes on, watch for extra features and stories featuring members of our Osbourn family!

Today is October 11 and it is a GREY DAY.

Let’s go to some announcements!

Friday’s home football game is a pink out for Breast Cancer Awareness. Special student section pink shirts will be sold during lunch on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Cost is $10.

Club sponsors: if you would like your club to be included in the 2023 yearbook, PLEASE complete the goggle form requesting club information. The schedule for club pictures will be finalized at the end of this week. Can’t find the form? Email Ms. Miller or see her in room 1030.Due to the PSAT test on Wednesday 10/12, the Eagle Writing Center session will be canceled.

Pre-season workouts continue next week for wrestling on Tuesday and Thursday. See coach Lasher or Weaver with any questions.

Underclassmen: if you were NOT photographed last week due to absence or the photographers running out of time, don’t panic! We have an underclass picture makeup day scheduled for November 18! See Ms. Miller in 1030 if you would like to be added to the list of students scheduled for that day. Remember- you need this picture for yearbook and your student ID!

SENIORS AND EARLY GRADUATES! Do you still need to be photographed for the yearbook and your ID card? YOU HAVE ONE MORE CHANCE! The next dates are November 9 and 10, by appointment only. The link to make your appointment is in your Class of 2023 Schoology! See Ms. Miller in room 1030 with any questions.

The countdown is on! Yearbook prices go up at the end of next quarter! Pick up an order form in room 1030 today to get the lowest price! We also still have some $20 extra yearbooks left!

Seniors! The deadline for senior tributes is just a few weeks away! Grab a form in room 1030 so your family and friends can honor you in the yearbook!

Students! Don’t forget that TOMORROW, October 12 is PSAT Day and an early release day! Yay! Check with your advisory teacher to see where you are testing.

Today for Hispanic Heritage Month we will learn about Oscar De La Renta

Oscar de la Renta was an internationally recognized fashion designer. Several U.S. first ladies wore his gowns at inaugural events and other places, from Jacqueline Kennedy to Laura Bush.

Oscar de la Renta was born on July 22, 1932, in the Dominican Republic.

At 18, he moved to Spain to study painting but was more interested in the world of fashion. De la Renta got his first fashion job in 1961 in Paris, as assistant to Lanvin-Castillo’s head designer, Antonio del Castillo.

In 1963, he moved to New York to work for Elizabeth Arden. He launched his own label in 1965, mostly comprised of casual-luxury clothing.

De la Renta continued his line of high fashion over the next decades, and expanded into perfumes and even furniture design. He also launched a less expensive line. He was an international success, and was both the first American and the first Dominican to design for a French Couture House.

De la Renta died October 20, 2014, at the age of 82. His designs have been worn by mutiple first ladies, actresses such as Penélope Cruz , Anne Hatheway and Sarah Jessica Parker, and royalty like Meghan Markle.
