Ivan Cornejo was born on June 5, 2004, in Riverside, California, he was a professional singer-songwriter in the regional Mexican and alternative-indie genre.
Ivan Cornejo first started singing on TikTok with his cousin and from there on he started to sing more songs with his guitar Ivan really got inspired by Johnny Cas and Billie Eilish. When Ivan Cornejo published his new album MIRADA, everyone was going crazy about it and talking about it.
The meaning of the album was “reliving that nostalgic summer night with your friends,” Ivan Cornejo said in a podcast.
The first song from the album is Sale Para Ser Feliz. In that song, the artist was talking about a personal change and the pain of watching someone you love become a stranger. The song resonates with anyone who has experienced loss or transformation in a close relationship.
The next song from the album is Intercambio Injusto which talks about the pain of seeing a past lover move on. This song doesn’t just only talk about what Ivan Cornejo’s feelings are but also touches on the human experience of dealing with heartbreak.
The 3rd song from the album is called Baby Please. In the song he talks about the struggle of dealing with a broken relationship. And in this part when Ivan said (“piensalo, tu y yo empezamos desde cero como antes “) in that part of the song it traps the person’s desires for a second chance and gaining trust in the relationship.
The next song after Baby Please is Herida Abierta in the song it explains a deeply emotional song that resonates with anyone who experienced unreciprocated love or the end of a significant relationship. The song is a reflective piece that captures the essence of loss and the struggle to move on from a deeply impacted relationship.
The fifth song on the album is Vuelve. This song gets people in their feelings because the song talks about a painful breakup. and making it relatable for anyone who has experienced a painful breakup. The word “vuelve” is a desperate feeling for wanting to get back with your past lover and when Ivan said ( Dime que jamás te vas a enamorar de alguien más) it just undercovers a deep fear of being forgotten. The next song is Quiero dormir cansado . It talks about how they want to escape the pain of unrequited love through sleep. And he also wants to avoid the reality of being unloved by someone he adores.
The next song in the album is called Aquí Te Espero. The song talks about a person who is blinded by love but is in a toxic relationship. The person is suffering from the beauty of loving and kissing the person. But someone is really messing around with their emotions. In one of the lines, Ivan said (Quiero olvidarme de ti), meaning that the person desires to move on but yet is still attached to the person and is struggling to move on.
Then we have Mirada, which talks about the personal pain of the experience of dealing with love that has turned cold. It says there’s possibly another love interest, meaning that the person has feelings for someone else and causes an emotional abandonment. When Ivan said (“De quebrarme el corazón / Y eso es normal pa’ ti.”) in that part of the song that heartbreak has become a routine and the partner sees the other partner suffer.
The next song in the album is Donde Estas. The song talks about anyone who has felt the pain of separation and having a difficult time moving on after a breakup. In the song he attempts to move on and to heal but finds nobody that compares to the love she gave him. He’s already attached to her and still has feelings for her.
And lastly, the last song from the album is Outro (Duermete) and this song is a gentle reminder of simple reassuring words. The song tells the listener that everything will be fine and the lyrics appear to be a lullaby, like an outro that wraps up the album with a sense of peace and closure.
This album was my favorite out of every other album he has made because this album really touched my soul.
Tell us what’s your favorite song from the album and why in the comments!

I have never listened to Ivan cornejo’s songs because I don’t listen to that type of music but some of my friends like him and even one of them went to his concert. I don’t really think I would start listening to his music personally but this article was very well written. It had every bit information that it could’ve had.

I think that Ivan Cornejo is a good artist but I haven’t heard his new album yet. I’ve only heard the son Sale Para Ser Feliz on social media and it’s honestly pretty good.

Ivan did an amazing job coming up with all these songs. All of them can relate to different people who went through hardships such as heartbreak. I love how the final song was a reassurance that everything will be okay after going through those hardships. I would definitely listen to this in my free time! Good job!
