As someone who’s never been to a concert before, this was a great first experience. I ended up going to the 21 Savage Jiffy Lube Live concert on a press pass for journalism and had a lot of fun. The place itself was huge. When we first pulled up, it was packed. You’d think a huge amount of people would be a problem but since we didn’t know where we were going, the smart thing to do was to follow the crowd. Eventually, after following the horde of people for about 7 min we made it to an area that checked us at a scanner to make sure we actually had a ticket to enter, despite the long line it was a fairly quick process.
After officially being allowed to enter I saw what I could only relate to what a fair would look like if it was only about 21 Savage, food, and merch. There were many food venues that offered a variety of snacks everywhere you went. There were also souvenirs being sold and most people seemed to walk by it without a second glance, but I honestly couldn’t take my eyes off of the Slaughter Gang themed American flag. It was completely red with purposeful lines in the place where the white would go, in place of the 50 stars were crosses. I could vividly picture it on my wall above my bed, it would’ve made such a great room decoration. I took a mental note to make sure to buy this $50 masterpiece before we left the concert.
We made our way to the stairs to enter the viewing point of the concert, not before confirming where we’d sit by looking at a map directly in front of the stairs leading up to where people would sit. We had lawn seats, meaning we could be anywhere on the lawn we wanted as long as it wasn’t reserved. Once we got in there I assumed everyone was just getting acclimated because the energy was pretty low. An artist I had never heard of, 21 Lil Harold, got on stage and started rapping, we all had the same reaction… relative silence. There was a screen above the stage showing the rapper in great detail and I assumed they brought him up there to get him some exposure because as they zoomed in closer to him it became apparent that a vast majority of us had no idea who this was.
All of us were here for one of 3 people, JID, Nardo Wick, or the headliner 21 Savage maybe even all 3. These people knew what they were doing though and they began to play songs almost every person in that crowd would get excited for during this time the screen was inactive since nobody was performing, this would become a pattern later on. I feel like the concert really started once they played the songs where everyone was vibing. Nardo Wick came out rapping one of his songs that blew up on TikTok and other songs I hadn’t heard of but was genuinely enjoying. One of the organizers on stage said to the crowd “If yall mess with Nardo Wick yell Wicked!” The crowd didn’t seem comfortable yet but I was there to experience the fun, and like a war cry I yelled, “WICKED!” 3 seconds after I yelled, a random guy ran around in my direction and stopped near me to dap me up, as we both just experienced the performance. They again played songs that would get the crowd going again. We all danced and had fun; the concert was like one big party.
Lights and stage effects happened as they announced JID’s appearance and boom! The stage was filled with fire and sparks as JID made his entrance and started rapping. I recognized quite a few songs, and I would have been satisfied with just that, but something even crazier happened. After one of the songs it started to rain and as if everything was perfectly planned he started rapping Raydar and the refrain for that rap is “It rains, it pours.” The celebratory vibe was still in overdrive and I was rapping some of the lyrics as well.
As we approach the night JID did what I believe was a freestyle or a song I didn’t yet know. After his performance they began playing crowd favorites, they had to have saved these for last on purpose because everybody in the crowd was singing these as the concert continued we’re all in the comfortable yet fun state of chaos everyone just did their own thing. People falling, wrestling, kissing, talking, yelling, and dancing all over the place. The screen above the stage started to become active again and plays an intro for the album american dream by 21 Savage.
The crowd erupted and eventually, he came out and started rapping. I recognized 2 songs and we all were excited to finally be able to see him after hours of waiting. After a few songs, we decided to head out to get ahead of the traffic. On our way out I searched and searched for that flag but the place selling it had already closed down. This was my first ever concert, and I have to say, I don’t have a single complaint. It was an amazing experience and I would love to go to another 21 Savage concert after this, preferably at the same place. It’s conveniently located close to where I live and was so huge. I’d definitely recommend you go to Jiffy Lube Live for your next concert.

I went to a country concert at Jiffy Lube with my family (not my choice) and it was not the most thrilling experience but this sounds way more fun than when I went.

I don’t really listen to 21 savage. The only way I listen to him is if my brother has the aux in the car and plays his music. Other than that I don’t listen to him at all.

I never really listened to 21 Savage but the concert sounded fun and I’m glad you had a good time there! The rappers I listen to are mostly Tyler, The Creator and MF Doom.

I’m never going to any concerts as I don’t like to go to overcrowded places, additionally I don’t know who 21 savage is more do I know or listen to the songs he makes. eitherway I don’t look at rap alot and most rap I do look at I don’t like.

21 savage is one of my top 5 favorite rappers for me. His own way of rapping makes my day feel good. My favorite song from him is “Bank Account” because it talks about money.

Even though I have never gone to a concert personally, I might have to get a ticket to one. It sounds like you had an extremely fun time. JID performing there sounds like you had a fun time!

Despite never really going to many concerts, this experience sounds great. I don’t personally listen to 21 Savage, but I would love to go to a concert and Jiffy Lube. The concert sounded amazing and I would love to give him a listen one day.

I am so glad you had fun during the concert! All the effects, the music, the people, it all gave the place that lively and ecstatic environment! Though, I don’t personally like being in huge crowds and being around huge flashes of light and loud sounds, I wouldn’t personally go to concerts myself but it sounds like a blast otherwise!

I think 21 Savage is a great artist and I would love to go see him in concert! I also love Jiffy Lube Live, since it’s incredibly big and spacious. I think that this is a good experience for a first concert!
