Many students at Osbourn High School celebrate religious holidays over the winter break. A tradition in most of those holidays is gift giving. During the holiday/Christmas time of the year people give gifts to the people in their life who are important to them. What type of gifts are students at Osbourn looking for? “I want purple sweatpants from H&M”, said Kimberly Martinez. Clothing is a very popular gift that is given and received for the holidays, sweatpants in particular are a very popular option because they are comfortable and come in many varieties, brands, and colors. Other gifts that are very commonly asked for are shoes. “For the holidays I want the Cherry Red Jordan 11’s,” said Thomas Wright. Shoes are a common gift because a lot of people use shoes to express themselves through style. Certain types of shoes are requested often because of the popularity of certain shoes like Jordan’s or types of Nike shoes.
Athletic wear is also a very popular present for athletes to receive. “I want a new pair of Nike cleats from the Nike store for Christmas,” said Rafael Sanchez. Shoes, cleats, shirts, shorts, and equipment area very common gifts for athletes.
If you are getting a gift for someone who enjoys video games, there are many things that you could get for them for the holidays. “I want a PlayStation 5 from Walmart for Christmas,” said Edgar Ortiz. From gaming consoles like an Xbox or a PlayStation to just video games or gift cards, any of these can be great gifts for a teen who has a passion for video games or someone who likes to play video games in their free time.
“I want the Orchid LEGO set for Christmas,” said Isabella Ferrel. Toys are another gift that many people wanted for the holidays, especially LEGO products. LEGO has become more popular with teens because of the new designs that they have made available, like different types of flowers or trees or race cars. LEGO has also become popular recently for the aesthetic of how your builds look after they’re finished.
“I want money for the holidays” said Kayla Hogan. If it is too hard to find a certain gift for someone or it is sold out or too expensive, cash is a great alternative to gifts because when you give someone money, you give them the opportunity to buy what they want for the holidays themselves to avoid the risk of them not liking the gift that you give or not liking the color or design.
In conclusion, there are so many different things that you can get someone for the holidays such as clothes, money, shoes, and much more. But during the holidays, the most important thing aside from all the gifts is spending time with loved ones and people you care about because time is priceless.
