In this article, you’ll get a glimpse into how some students take care of their skin, what products they swear by, and even which ones didn’t work for them. They also share their advice for anyone just starting out. From tackling acne to finding a makeup routine that boosts confidence, these students show that beauty isn’t just about products, it’s about feeling good in your own skin.
Yaneysis Torres keeps things simple. She doesn’t feel the need to overload her skin with products. “I just like to keep it simple so my skin stays healthy,” she says. Her routine begins with a cleanser to combat acne, followed by Thayer’s toner to control excess oil. For makeup, she sticks to concealer and blush just enough to feel confident. “Makeup helps me feel put together and boosts my confidence,” she adds. For Yaneysis, the key is learning to feel good even without makeup.
Yanet Molina has had her share of product fails, like Wet n Wild foundation and Tarte concealer, which ended up too drying for her skin. But that hasn’t stopped her from loving makeup. She now goes for lighter looks, relying on Juvia’s Place “I Am Magic” concealer, Maybelline foundation, contour powder, and Poreless Putty Primer. On the skincare side, she sticks to La Roche-Posay cleanser and CeraVe moisturizer. “Clean skin helps everything else work better,” she explains. Her advice for beginners: match your products to your skin type and keep your brushes clean.
Vanessa Martinez takes a minimalist approach too, but in her own way. She doesn’t wear makeup every day, but when she does, she prefers simple, natural looks. She avoids products that don’t work for her. “I like e.l.f. Power Grip Primer but love Maybelline Fit Me powder for a smooth, shine-free finish,” she said. Her skincare routine starts with La Roche-Posay oil cleanser, which keeps her skin healthy without overcomplicating things. “You don’t need a ton of products to take care of your skin,” she said.
Juliet sees makeup as a form of self-expression. She had issues with e.l.f. Camo Concealer, which made her skin patchy, but she found other products that work for her, like e.l.f. Grip Primer and Maybelline Fit Me. Skincare is equally important; she uses CeraVe moisturizer and never skips sunscreen. “Cleansing is the first step because it makes me feel fresh,” she explains. Her biggest tip? Don’t skip sunscreen; it protects your skin and keeps it looking youthful.
Simone Ward learned early that not every product works for everyone. e.l.f. Camo Concealer caused breakouts, so she became more cautious about what she uses. She still enjoys makeup, favoring NYX Serum Concealer, Saie Dewy Bronzer, and Juvia’s Place blush, but skincare always comes first. Tretinoin cream and CeraVe face wash are her staples. “Cleansing sets up the rest of my routine,” she says, adding that sunscreen is non-negotiable.
Each student has a different routine, but one thing they all agree on: confidence and self-care matter more than the number of products you use. Whether you keep it simple or enjoy experimenting, the best routine is the one that makes you feel your best.

I don’t really do anything to my skin because of a lot of the toxic chemicals in it. But, I think girls’ taking care of themselves is very inspiring.

My skin has had their ups and downs but during a period where I had the best skin I ate cucumber salads every day and drank peppermint tea every night. I also had bad acne scars but Cosrx Vitamin C 13 serum cleared it up within 2 months, and you can start seeing progress around week 2-3.

Honestly, their tips about keeping it simple and finding what works for your skin are super helpful, especially if you’re just starting out.

I really enjoyed reading about the different beauty routines at Osbourn. It’s great to see that whether you keep it simple or try new products, the focus is on feeling confident and taking care of your skin. Sunscreen and cleansing came up a lot, and that’s definitely something everyone should remember.

I think my routine is more like Yaneysis or Venessa. With a more natural look and just a little bit of makeup.

I wear makeup almost everyday and I’ve tried a lot of different products some that made me break out and some that made me stick to. One of my go to makeup products is my Nars light reflecting foundation, I like to mix it with drunk elephant glowy drops for the perfect base.

I enjoyed this article a lot because I agree with the sources used in it. I think skin care is the biggest step for a smooth makeup look. I really recommend the CeraVe SA Lotion for Rough & Bumpy Skin because it helps with your skin texture a lot and makes look smooth!

I liked this article a lot , it felt very in depth and it seemed like you really paid attention to detail when you were interveiwing !One product I would say was a game changer is an ordinary eyelash curler, it makes such a difference. And for acne I would recommend PanOxyl benzynol peroxide 10%.

This is a good article. It shared perspectives from different students who didn’t all have the same opinion. Because I play a multitude of sports, I don’t wear make-up everyday, but I swear by toner and sunscreen.

I like how this article shares different voices and routines, it’s balanced and easy to follow. What made you choose these students to feature? I also keep my routine simple with just cleanser and moisturizer since too many products make me break out.
