What do our Eagles’ routines look like before and after school, and what do they like eating to prepare themselves for the day? Let’s find out in this article!
As the school day begins, our Eagles are already in motion. Each one has their own routine to set the tone for the day. Whether it’s a few moments of relaxation before heading out the door or fueling up with a favorite breakfast, here’s a glimpse into how they start their mornings. Freshman Jose Avila starts his day with a personalized routine. “ I wake up and I take a one-hour shower, then after I watch Instagram reels for like 10 minutes, and then I end up taking 2 hours to get ready, then I go to eat breakfast and go to my bus,” said freshman Jose Avila.
For freshman Selvin Murillo, the day starts a bit earlier. “I wake up at 6:00 a.m., so I don’t really rush like the way a girl would do, so I have plenty of time,” said freshman Selvin Murillo. Selvin shared that his earlier start gives him a calmer morning, allowing him to get ready at his own pace without feeling rushed.
When it comes to breakfast, freshman Kelsy Gonzalez has a favorite spot to start her day. “I personally really like to eat Chick-fil-A for breakfast because it really gets me going for the day and helps my mood, and it’s my favorite go-to breakfast for the morning,” said freshman Kelsy Gonzalez. A warm, comforting breakfast like Chick-fil-A helps her hit the ground running and sets a positive tone for the rest of her day.
Meanwhile, librarian Ms.Cook takes a more low-key approach to her mornings.“ I usually get up at 6:15 in the morning to get my morning started, and I take about 45 min to an hour because I have to take out my lovely dogs, and I don’t eat breakfast, I just eat later on in the day. My mornings are pretty boring, unlike some other people’s,” librarian Ms. Cook. admitted. For Ms. Cook, a quiet morning routine with her dogs is the perfect way to start the day, even if breakfast doesn’t make the cut.
On the other hand, freshman Alexa Gomez Carteneda opts for a quick snack. “ I like eating goldfish because it is an easy snack for my morning, and so then in the afternoon I like to eat a whole feast after school! “ said freshman Alexa Gomez Carteneda. Alexa keeps things light and simple in the morning, saving her appetite for later when she can enjoy a big meal after school.
After a long day, some of our students and staff have lots of things to do, whether it’s going on a run or eating chicken. Let’s take a look at how some of our students and staff spend their time after school.
Let’s hear from some of our freshmen about how they like to spend their afternoons and what they enjoy eating. “I like to go on runs and listen to music, then I eat Chipotle with Coca-Cola,” said freshman Kelsy Gonzales. Following her, freshman Yeremy Piñeda said, “I like to eat chicken my mom makes because I get really hungry after school and soccer practice.”
From taking a look at how some students spend their evenings and what they like to eat, some students shared their thoughts on school hours. “I feel like school should be shorter and end at 2:00 p.m. because I have lots of things to do at home, and I usually stay up until 11:30 doing my homework,” said freshman Alexa Gomez-Castoneda. In contrast, freshman Rodrigo Vargas shared, “I think school should be longer because I have nothing to do at home and I do my homework at school.”
In addition to students, one of our librarians also shared what their typical evenings look like.“Every evening is usually different for me because my son plays baseball, but if he doesn’t, then I usually relax and watch TV,” said librarian Ms.Cook. She then added, “On my way home, I like to listen to audiobooks in my car.” Meanwhile, freshman Jade Little shared, “I go and hang out with my friends. It takes up some time of my rest because I’m out and not home.”
Finally, freshman Selvin Murillo shared with us, “I don’t really do my homework because I get really tired after practice”.

I believe my routine is a bit different from others. I normally wake up stupidly early in the day. I do some maintenance around the house then shower and cook for myself. Then I go to school.

In the morning, I wake up, take a shower, then I get dressed and brush my teeth. In the evenings, I eat dinner and then work on homework. I go to bed around 10 and wake up around 6:20.
