As juniors, you Eagles are now inching closer to the finish line of high school. With graduation just a year away, it’s a good time to start thinking about the future and how to make the most of your remaining time. Here’s some advice that might help you make the most of this important year, so listen up and take notes!
As you move closer to senior year, it’s important to start thinking about your goals and aspirations. What do you want to achieve in your final year of high school? What are your plans for after graduation? Take some time to reflect on these questions and set some goals for yourself, ensuring they are both challenging and achievable.
Junior year is an important time for academic success and personal growth. Focus on your studies, but also make time for extracurricular activities, hobbies, and social connections. Get involved in clubs, sports, or volunteer opportunities that align with your interests, allowing you to develop new skills.
As you start thinking about life after high school, begin exploring your options and taking steps to prepare for your future. Research colleges, apply for scholarships, explore career paths, or consider other post-graduation opportunities. Take advantage of resources like career counseling, college fairs, and internships to help you make informed decisions.
As you progress through junior year, remember to stay focused on your goals, but also enjoy the journey. Take risks, step outside of your comfort zone, and embrace new experiences. Be kind to yourself and others, and never stop learning. This is a time of growth, discovery, and preparation for the exciting adventures that lie ahead, so make the most of every moment and create memories that will last a lifetime.
Here are some words of advice given to juniors by senior Eagles and staff:
“Utilize your resources to make sure that you have a successful junior year and always give it your all,” said Kiley Clapp
“Don’t wait until you’re completely lost to ask for assistance. Remember, teachers are there to support you,” said Gabriela Claros
“Enjoy your last year of high school, as you only get to do it once. Don’t be in a rush to leave. Take advantage of every opportunity to participate in fun activities specifically for seniors. And identify goals and have a plan for what you’re going to do after high school. Utilize your counselor, career college specialist, and other staff to learn as much as you can about what the possibilities are,” said Mr. Kaiser.
