It’s towards the end of the year when the 2025 senior class is almost done! The seniors have all had great accomplishments and experiences throughout their years in high school. Their last day is May 20th, so they are enjoying their last couple of days that they have left here at Osbourn High School. On May 29th, the seniors will walk the stage at George Mason and they will graduate! Here is what some seniors have to say about their high school experiences!
“My high school experience was very eventful! Those events led me to be the person that I am today,” said senior Mikaya Trammell. “My high school experience was fun, I had my ups and downs, but I’m so grateful for all the memories I made along the way,” said senior Bianca Duran Chavez.
The seniors’ time in high school is almost over, and here is what they have to say about their last couple of days. “It’s a bittersweet feeling knowing that I’m almost done with high school. I’m going to miss the memories and my friends, but I’m excited to see what’s next,” said senior Kimberly Martinez.
Teachers have a big impact on students and who they are today! The advice given from teachers usually stick around with the students for the rest of their lives. They help students grow in every possible way and are always there for them whenever they need it. Here at Osbourn High School, there are many teachers who had really great and big impacts on students, and here is a teacher who has affected many seniors in the best ways possible. “My sports medicine teacher, Ms. Ryder, has had a huge impact on me by showing me that life doesn’t always have to be taken so seriously. She has taught me to just go with the flow, which may involve fighting hardships and battles, and to always continue to do what one loves to do,” said senior Lucero Romero Hernandez. “The teacher that had the biggest impact is my sports medicine teacher because she’s always making me laugh and has always wanted the best for me,” said Angel Boateng.
During high school, you create memories as each day goes on. You can create so many memories with your childhood friends, people you grew up with, and even friends that you are just making. In high school, you have four years to create the best memories you can with your favorite people. Here are some of the seniors’ favorite memories during their high school years. “My favorite high school memory is beating Unity Reed my freshman year,” said Boateng. “My favorite high school memory would be meeting all the people with whom I’ve created friendships with whether that was in class, sports, or clubs,” said Bianca Duran Chavez.
High school is such a great experience. You can learn life lessons, meet new people, and have teachers who care about you and your education. When you’re a senior, you start to realize that your high school experience is coming to an end, and you have to make the most of it. This is what the seniors said about what they will miss the most about high school, and what they wish they had done differently during the years. “I’m going to miss my friends, the memories, and everyone I met along the way who helped me become who I am today,” said Martinez. “One thing I wish I had done differently is practicing time management because now going into college, I definitely think that’s something I’m going to have to get better at,” said Mikaya Trammell.
As graduation day arrives, seniors are finalizing their plans after graduation, whether it’s going to college or going straight into the workforce. Seniors are coming closer to a new chapter of their lives, and they are excited for what is next for them! Here is what they plan on doing after high school! “I’m looking forward to being one step closer to becoming a vet and seeing the benefits of being an adult,” said Kimberly Martinez. “My plans after high school are to go to a college and study kinesiology,” said Angel Boateng. “I’m looking forward to going to college and making new friends after graduation,” said Bianca Duran Chavez. “My plans after high school are to study at NOVA, look into their radiology program, continue to work, travel, and also volunteer at my local church,” said Lucero Romero Hernandez. “My high school experience was fun, I had my ups and downs, but I’m so grateful for all the memories I made along the way,” said Duran Chavez.
As the seniors start focusing on their new journeys and their future, they have valuable advice that they want to give to all underclassmen, so that they can make the most out of their high school experiences and cherish every moment they have. “The advice I would give to underclassmen is don’t procrastinate and always do what you know is right!” said Trammell. “Advice I would give to underclassmen would be don’t stress too much about your future, focus on the living present, and not missing out on enjoying the moments that you will soon be able to call memories,” said Romero.
The seniors’ experiences allowed them to cherish all their friends and the memories that they made along the way. They have learned lessons, have been given good advice from teachers and others, and it has made them who they are today. They are ready to move on to their next chapter of their lives and will always remember the high school experience they have had here at Osbourn High School!
