Briyanna Moody said, “I have a year-round job, but it was summer of 2024. Honestly, yes. I feel much more independent because of this change. I work minimum wage, but I make at least $60 in tips. I would always recommend a job to people. It’s a really good look on your resume, and you will get more opportunities. My tip is to take half of your paycheck and put it in your savings account, no matter how much your paycheck is. You will have a good amount of money in the future with your savings.”
Elise Evans said,” I would prefer outdoor jobs because I would feel the sun on me and be by the water if I got too hot.”
Jackie Asencio said, “For summer, I would prefer outdoor jobs because you get a chance to enjoy your surroundings, and if you like to tan, then you can do that while working outside.”
Working during the summer can help students build up their resumes and work skills. Also, working over the summer gives you benefits. There are many places hiring students over the summer; it’s usually pools, clothing stores, malls, and ice cream shops. But some jobs have an age requirement. Pools usually do, because lifeguards need to be 15+.
Briyanna Moody said, “Basically, it shows that you’ve been able to be independent from a young age. It will show on your resume what you have experience in. You will learn a lot from getting a job at a young age, like how to save and spend your money.”
Fanny Diaz said, “I think the benefits of a summer job are that you can make money over summer and save up for whatever you want, and you can keep that summer job even when you go back to school, just changing the days and hours. It also looks good on your resume.”
Sandy said, “I think that working over the summer can give you benefits like being independent and making your own money. Also, how to spend and save money because when you have a job, you want that money to last you till your next paycheck.”
Teens are very picky with many thing,s and jobs can be one of those things. Teens want to work at a place that will pay well, and where they can have fun and not work too many hours.
Elise Evans said, “I want to work with flowers or at the pool or a water park because I like the water and also looking out for people. I also like working with flowers because they’re very peaceful to work with, and they are also very pretty.”
Fanny Diaz said,” I would like to work in a clothing shop because I love fashion and helping people find cute clothes for themselves.”
