The boys soccer team has some personal and team goals for this new season. Their personal goals are very important to the team. It shows that they are dedicated and are willing to help each other and help the team win. Here are what some of the boys said their personal and team goals are. “I hope to have a better record than last year and make it to at least regionals, and my personal goal is to have as many clean sheets as possible,” said Orlando Martinez. “My personal goals this soccer season is to have a better season than last year as well as to help my teammates out by assisting them or scoring,” said sophomore Anderson Molina Turcios.
Leadership and sportsmanship play an important role when it comes to sports. Being a good leader requires a good combination of skills, good behavior, and personal qualities that allow others to respect, trust, and stay loyal to you. Being a good leader requires you to have good communication skills no matter what type of situation you are in. It seems like Osbourn boy’s soccer has some good leaders and players on their team. Here is what some players had to say about their teammates who are good leaders and players and why they look up to them. “I wouldn’t say I look up to anyone, but I do like the way some players play like Elvis and Angel. They don’t rush things, and they move a lot off the ball to get themselves into open space,” said sophomore Kevin Santos.
Being prepared physically and mentally is important when it comes to soccer. Physically, you need to be healthy and take care of yourself or any injuries that you may have. Mentally, you need to have a good mentality on the game and be able to focus before any games. Here is how some of the players on the boys soccer team prepare before every game. “Well mentally I like to just listen to music and calm myself down and put into my own head that I can do everything and even if I make a mistake to always keep trying, and just stay calm in game and physically well I drink a lot of water days before the game so I’m not dehydrated and on game days I just eat a small breakfast and fruit through the day” said Kevin Santos. “I sometimes don’t; at times, I take a bottle of electrolytes and a banana, and on the way there, I watch some clips of games,” said junior Orlando Martinez.
As the boys’ season begins to unfold, the excitement for the new season is unbelievable! With a new beginning, the boys are ready to face new challenges and are ready to prove themselves.
