Winter break is finally almost here, and everyone is buzzing off with excitement about their plans for the holiday! I interviewed some of the students and teachers to find out how they celebrate this chilly season. Here’s what they had to say!
Janail Bullock shared her winter break tradition, she says, “I go out to North Carolina to visit family.” Spending time with loved ones is really important, especially during the holidays. It sounds like Janail looks forward to making fun memories with her family in North Carolina.
Oscar is all about cozy move nights during winter break, he says, “During winter break, I always look forward to revisiting Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. It’s my favorite movie to watch during the season.” Watching movies like Harry Potter really helps set the festive mood!
Mr. Elias NeJame has some exciting plans as well. He mentioned, “We sorta have a mini trip; we’re going to stay for 5 days in Harpers Ferry, so it’s only an hour away. It’s not too much driving, but it definitely still feels like a vacation, which would be nice.” A mini getaway sounds like a perfect way to unwind!
For Mr. NeJames, spending quality time with family is super important. He says, “It’s really important for me. My wife and I are both teachers here at Manassas City, and it’s one of our only times to spend time with one another.” With their daughters going to daycare the following week, he’s looking forward to some much-needed alone time with his wife.
Janail also shared her love for winter, noting, “The winter breaks and the snow.” Who doesn’t love and enjoy a good snow day? Winter is definitely a magical time of the year!
Lastly, Oscar summed it up nicely when he mentioned, “I really look forward to spending quality time with my family and also taking some time for myself.” It’s important to recharge during the busy school year.
As winter break approaches, it’s clear that everyone has something special to look forward too. Whether it’s family trips, favorite movies, or simply enjoying the snow, this holiday season is bound to be filled with so much joy and togetherness.
Share your plans during the holiday season in the comments! Happy winter break everyone!

The snow gave us so much time at home. I just caught up on school work and hung out with my friends like everyday. We NEED more breaks

I don’t go anywhere for Christmas, but my grandma comes from South Dakota almost every year to spend time with my family over the break.

This is probably one of the most unexpected breaks since the snow was heavy and gave us another week of a break. Though, I was happy because of that because of the fact that I have more time to relax and not worry about school for the most part. I did go sledding outside, and I had such a good time on break!

What I did during winter break is spending my time with my family during Christmas and New Years Eve.

I didn’t do much this winter break. All I really did was do a bunch of Christmas’ and stay at my sister’s house.
