The air is getting chilly, and people are putting out their beautiful Christmas lights. It’s about that time.
Christmas we all know as the gifting season! Many traditions focus on giving back to people you care about, but, does everyone choose to give? “I love gifting people for Christmas. Letting them know how much I care and helping them feel better makes me feel good too. I’m giving a lot of my friends Takis cause that’s all they want, but for my mom I’m getting her a blender because I want my mom to have everything she wants because she does so much for me,” explained Janail Bullock.
Almost everyone has something in mind they want for Christmas, let’s take a look on what our Eagles have in mind!
“I want an iPhone because my old one broke and I miss texting my friends or watching videos when I’m stressed,” said Fatima Melgar.
“I think most people probably want pj’s, Uggs, Jordan’s, or makeup this Christmas because everyone wants to get things to improve themselves so they can come back looking and feeling better after the break,” said Sandy Doris Huniac Barrios.
But others aren’t in it to be the ones gifting. “I’m a receiver, I don’t really like getting people things because I think it’s just too much work. Of course, I give my family things they want, but I really don’t think we should be focusing on the presents,” said Jackie Valdez Ascencio.
“Christmas means it’s time for everyone to get along and spend time with each other and be happy that we’re all off school,” said Jackie.
“I think the holidays are meant for showing your care and appreciation for your loved ones,” Janail said.
“Christmas has a special meaning that I think sometimes, people forget because this generation is becoming greedy. Myself, personally, I also feel like I forget the true meaning of Christmas sometimes because I’m focused on the presents, and I feel bad,” admitted Jose Manuel Nolasco Stahl.
Other people have other ways to spend the holiday season.
“I’m going to be doing all my missing work during the break because I don’t want to have to worry about it when we come back. I think it’s better to get everything out of the way. After all my work is done, I think I’ll just be enjoying the time I’m able to spend alone,” Sandy said.
“I’m just going to be at home listening to my favorite Christmas song Rocking Around The Christmas Tree because it’s fun and it makes me happy. I also want to spend time with my friends, but if they’re busy I think I’ll just enjoy the me time and be happy I’m out of school,” Fatima said.
No matter how our scholars are choosing to spend their time, we all know that we are happy to have a break.
