The holidays are here and Christmas is right around the corner! Let’s talk about what movies you should watch for this holiday season!
Home Alone is a classic when it comes to Christmas movies! If you were to think about Christmas movies, most people would think about Home Alone. This movie is about an 8-year-old boy who was mistakenly left home alone and has to protect his home against 2 burglars on Christmas Eve. Home Alone is a great movie to watch with your family; it’s funny, appropriate, and silly. I would definitely say that this is at the top of my list when it comes to holiday movies because other movies follow up with this like Home Alone 2 and Home Alone 3!
The Nightmare Before Christmas is about a skeleton named Jack who is from a town named Halloween Town, but he stumbles into Christmas Town. He decides to stay and even though he has bad intentions throughout the movie he finds a sense of clarity. This movie is great; it has a variety of events in it like romance that adds to the plot. A lot of other people I know have also said that this is a great movie and that they definitely recommend it! (I also wanted to add that this could also be viewed as Halloween-related!)
The Elf movie is about a guy named Buddy and how he was transported to the North Pole and then he worked as an elf for his life, but he wanted to find his father so he went for a visit to New York. This movie is really funny from the start. It had some turning points not in a bad way. I would really recommend this movie if you’re gong to watch it with family and friends because it’s something you can laugh at with them and is a good movie option to watch on Christmas Day.
A Christmas Story is a good movie to watch if you want something more realistic and something that you can relate to more. This movie has a lot of wow moments that will have you shocked and is more of a traditional movie. It did have me shocked but in a wholesome way. I would also say that this is a traditional holiday movie. If I’m being honest, this wouldn’t be at the top of my recommendation list, but it still is a great option.
How The Grinch Stole Christmas is about the Grinch who growing up was excluded because of the way he looks. So when he was older, he tried to take revenge on the town by stealing Christmas in Whoville. At the end of the movie, he finds a sense of closure and is accepted back into the town as a Who. This movie is my personal favorite because growing up it was really funny and is definitely a movie I enjoy watching every Christmas season. I would definitely say this is #1 on my recommendation list; this is a great movie.
Rudolph the Nosed Reindeer is a cute story in my opinion. there’s not really much to the movie. At first, he is told that his bright red nose is a “flaw,” but the brightness of his nose turns out to help guide Santa Claus’s sleigh as he drops off toys the night before Christmas. In the movie, Rudolph saves the day after a storm comes up. I would recommend this movie if you’re watching it with little ones because the plot is good and the turning point is entertaining, but not too overwhelming.
The Polar Express is the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. In the movie, a little boy travels to the North Pole and goes to Santa’s headquarters to tag along and make friends. At first, he didn’t believe in the spirit of Christmas but throughout the movie, he learned a valuable lesson about the true Christmas spirit. My favorite part about the movie was when he realized that you should not care about what others think and believe in what you want to believe in, to me that is a very valuable lesson that all kids should know.
Now that you have multiple movie options, what movies are you going to watch? Hopefully this helped you decide so you can be ready for this holiday season, and especially for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!

I love Home Alone! It’s so entertaining and silly, making it my top pick! How The Grinch Stole Christmas is also one of my favorites and it does not get old for me! I love how they even sneaked in some humor in the movie while still adding an amazing plot! Good job on the article! I would definitely watch these on Christmas day!

This list has some solid Christmas classics to enjoy with family and friends! Home Alone is a must-watch for its humor and nostalgia, while The Nightmare Before Christmas is perfect if you’re into something a bit different with both Halloween and Christmas vibes. The Grinch tops the list for its heartwarming story, but Rudolph and The Polar Express are great for younger kids who’ll enjoy the cute, simple plots.

I love Elf because I always watch it with my family every year. It’s just so funny seeing how Buddy navigates around the human world and interacts with people. It’s truly a great Christmas movie.
