Lil Uzi Vert released his sequel to his best-selling and chart-topping album Eternal Atake (2020). His new album Eternal Atake 2 released on November 1st, 2024. It contains 16 tracks and has 1 feature. But is his album way more good than the hit 2020 album Eternal Atake?
When I first looked at the album cover art for Eternal Atake 2, I could not tell if they used Artificial Intelligence (AI) or took the photo and photoshopped everything. The cover art showed women with red glowing eyes. One of the women also had a key on top of her.
After taking a glance at the cover art, I had to listen to the Eternal Atake album from 2020. After listening to the album, it was time for me to listen to Lil Uzi Vert’s new album. I ranked all of the songs from worst to best for Lil Uzi’s lyrics, production and vocals.
These are my song rankings from worst to best:
16. Meteor Man
This song was so unexpected, the beat was going great until his voice is heard, I did not like how he rapped in this song and he could’ve done much better. His vocals sounded like a mixture of other popular rappers all combined into a mumbling sound, at the end, it sounded like everything was about to get worse, this is easily one of the tracks I would never listen to again for a while. Ranking: 4/10
15. The Rush
Is it just me or did Big Time Rush only have the intro and the rest was Lil Uzi rapping the entire song? I think this song may have disappointed a lot of people, especially, if you were once a fan of Big Time Rush back then. Also, I did not know if Lil Uzi was rapping or if some of the Big Time Rush Members had any lyrics. Overall this song was offtrack like the previous tracks I heard. Ranking: 4.5/10
14. Goddard Song
The instrumental production was very perfect throughout the song, but I did not like Lil Uzi’s vocal pitch changes, I think he could’ve done better with this song but it is still very good, it’s just not something I would listen to all the time. I would say that it reminds me of one of his old songs, I just can’t remember that song though. Ranking: 6/10
13. Paars in Mars
At the beginning of the track, it sounded low-pitched. but after a few seconds, it was just Lil Uzi’s voice slowed down which was pretty good, however when the song continued, it was overall mid and I didn’t like his vocals being off track, and the ending was just like other songs I heard in the past that was not from Lil Uzi. Ranking: 6.5/10
12. Mr. Chow
The song was mainly melodic and not that much rap but this one actually hits very differently however the music that was produced should’ve been better in this time we are in now. The music that was used sounded like something similar I heard before. It could use some fixes on the instruments only and not the vocals as the vocals were just on and perfect. Ranking: 7/10
11. Chips and Dip
It did not sound like Chips and Dip, it sounded more like a bass-boosted trap and hip-hop recording, In the first seconds of the song, Lil Uzi starts rapping immediately without the instrumental starting first. He also mentioned the word “enemy” a lot of times in his lyrics. In the rest of the song, nothing was special and Uzi kept rapping without losing breath in the making of this song. I would say it’s on the positive side for me, but I had to listen to it over 3 times just to understand the meaning of this song. Ranking: 7/10
10. She Stank
In the beginning of the song, it was just his deep voice but when I continued listening, I heard his normal rapping voice in this track and the rhythm of the music used was upbeat and well produced, I would say him melodically rapping “She stank” at the end was not my favorite part from the song but the rest was still perfectly made. Ranking: 7.5/10
9. Lyft Em Up
This song had symbols instead of regular drumbeats and I am very impressed on what the producers did with this song, I was confused on what Lil Uzi was rapping about until I heard the lyrics “Please don’t get lifted” meaning don’t pass away or don’t go up to heaven. His vocals kind of gives me the vibes of how Soundcloud rappers would rap. Lyft Em Up is probably between the middle of best and worst but I say it’s pretty good. Ranking: 8/10
8. Space High
This is the final track from the album and Lil Uzi’s vocals got me up still. I like when he introduced himself in the song singing “Hi, how you doing? I’m Lil Uzi.” The production for this song was in the middle of perfection and errors. I didn’t really like the sound of the instrumental that was used in there. But the entire song was good until the near end of the song when Lil Uzi was a little loud probably chanting a lyric repeatedly until he was cut off by the instrumental. Overall this last song was completely positive and is very catchy for me. Ranking: 8/10
7. We Good
I think this track was perfect for the first position of the album, even though his voice was a little bit off and was more singing than rapping melodically, I still think it was a good track as an opener. I also think the production was smooth and had a rhythmic beat that was very cool to listen to. Ranking: 8.5/10
6. Light Year (Practice)
This song was so upbeat and he did a great job on the production for this track, the song also had more rapping than melodically rapping, and at the end of the song, a voice that sounded like AI mentions the album title Eternal Atake followed by another voice saying “2”, this song was the right choice to fit in this type of album. Ranking: 9/10
5. Black Hole
Black Hole Has to be so underrated, this song deserves some praise for Lil Uzi’s vocals. Instead of the song walking us through bad places underneath and unknown, It walked us through a galactic and starry sky that had a lot of melody. The production was amazing despite Lil Uzi’s Vocal track being off still. but what it matters more is the song’s melody and where it was all made. Ranking: 9/10
4. Not an Option
This is another song that was on beat from the album, I like how it didn’t have Lil Uzi’s deep and weird voices because if that happened then I would have never liked it. as for the ending, he did not give an outro for this song as it was just fade. Overall the song was the cleanest from the entire album. Ranking: 9.5/10
3. Perky S**
I thought I was going to hate this song cause of the track title being inappropriate, however, when I listened to the song, it was actually not bad. The production of the song and Lil Uzi Vert’s vocals matched perfectly and the lyrics instrumental music that was used in this song sounded like something in the 80’s or 90’s. Ranking: 10/10
2. Conceited
At the beginning of this song, a guitar sound was added and it was a perfect opening instrument for this song, this song is very unique in its own way that it was produced. Lil Uzi Vert’s vocals in this song sounded like other popular rappers from the 2010s. Despite Lil Uzi’s vocals, the rest of the song was perfect and that’s all it matters. This is one of my favorites from the album. Ranking 10/10
1. Chill Bae
This track might have been a fan favorite from this album, I agree with this because just like “Black Hole” it has more melody and not much rapping and beats that are loud. Chill Bae has more of a combination of soft and rhythmic. I would listen to this song again whenever I’m bored or If I’m traveling far. The production made the song 10x better for the album. Ranking: 11/10
The album didn’t really surprise me that much as Lil Uzi Vert’s only feature was Big Time Rush and that’s it. I think Eternal Atake (2020) was more positive than Eternal Atake 2. I would listen to all of the original Eternal Atake songs from 2020 all over again and not much from Eternal Atake 2. I also think that Chromokopia by Tyler, The Creator was better than this album due to having more features and having a more high-quality produced arrangement.
My final ranking for the Entire Album is 6/10. My final thoughts for this album would be that the lack of features made the album have less positivity and passion. If Lil Uzi Vert’s new album had any features on the album, It would have topped the charts and had a positive reception.
Lil Uzi Vert used to make a lot of great albums, from his debut album Luv Is Rage 2 to his album from last year, Pink Tape. He also made hit songs such as XO Tour Llif3 and his number-one single Bad and Bouujee featuring Migos. I wished that Lil Uzi Vert came back to the style of how he rapped just like he did back then.
