Roblox, one of the most popular online gaming platforms that came out on September 1st, 2006, has captured the attention of millions around the world, especially younger audiences. With its vast range of games and social experiences, Roblox provides players with creative outlets and social interactions, many games such as Bloxburg, horror games, epic mini games, multiple obbies and many others. But how do the players themselves feel about their use of the platform? I interviewed several Roblox players to find out their opinions on the future of the game, its current features, and what they hope will change.

For some players, Roblox feels like a fun phase, but not something they expect to continue playing into adulthood. “I don’t think I’m going to be playing it when I get older because I feel like I’m going to start growing out of it,” said Janail Bullock. This sentiment reflects the experience many young gamers face as their tastes evolve over time.

Even with its many features, Roblox isn’t perfect. One frustration shared by players is the platform’s voice chat system. “I absolutely hate how Roblox takes my voice chat away when I’m literally saying nothing bad. They could definitely improve their system,” said Elizabeth Martinez, highlighting the need for better moderation and more transparent guidelines.

Playing Roblox isn’t just about fun, it also has practical benefits. “I believe it’s probably improved my typing skills,” said Bullock, pointing out how the game can enhance certain abilities through regular use and interaction.

When it comes to gameplay, Roblox offers a wide variety of experiences. Some players gravitate toward games that allow for creativity and socialization. Lisa Dath shared her love for ‘Dress to Impress’ and ‘Club Roblox’, stating, “I really love how you can design your own outfit in Dress to Impress, and it’s fun to play with friends.”

For Club Roblox, the appeal lies in the ability to decorate and role-play, showcasing how Roblox can also serve as a space for creative expression. “For Club Roblox I like how I can design and decorate your house and role playing characters in the game,” said Dath.

For many, the experience of Roblox varies depending on whether they’re playing solo or with friends. “It depends. Sometimes when my friends are busy, I play by myself, but if they’re free, we call and play together,” explained Lisa Dath. This highlights the social nature of the platform, where the company of friends often enhances the gaming experience.

Roblox’s social features can be a mixed bag, “I’m not sure, sometimes people can be a bit odd in their interactions,” said Gisselle, reflecting on the unpredictable nature of online interactions within the game. This underscores the challenge of navigating social spaces in online communities.

Although these interviews give us a glimpse into the Roblox community, the platform has much more to offer. With its user-generated content, Roblox continues to evolve, providing both challenges and entertainment to its players. Whether players stick with it long-term or outgrow it, the impact Roblox has on creative gaming is undeniable.
