Have you ever thought of how the students here at Osbourn High School feel about the lunches? Well you’ve come to the right place with this article. If you didn’t know already Osbourn students get to pick 1 out of 3 lunches every school day for free. People have a lot of good things to say about the lunch here. “I like the diversity in the lunches and the idea of being able to eat something different almost everyday,” said Cash Short, a senior.
Although the lunches here vary in ingredients so of course some people have a favorite lunch that they look forward to every day. But what are the students favorite lunches? People seem to love pizza dippers, but Cristian Aldana Medina, a freshmen, said  “There’s a lot to choose from although if I had to choose one to be my favorite I’d pick the pizza dippers. It’s the food that makes me feel at home.”
Some people have more simple favorites like Wally Gwynn, who said: “My favorite lunch is the chicken sandwiches, they’re perfect and can never be messy.”
Others like more sophisticated lunches “I don’t have a favorite, but if I had to choose what I wanted to eat every day for all of eternity I’d pick the strawberry parfaits,” said Isabella Torres Osuna, a freshmen.
Even though a majority of the people at the school get the lunch out of the cafeteria, some people like to sit down and enjoy a lunch from home. Cash Short said, “Whenever I bring my own, it’s because my mom made something really good the previous day and I want to have it again as leftovers at school. Nothing can beat your own mother’s cooking.”
Although everyone loves the lunches here, there has to have some sort of problem right? Most people’s biggest issue is about the seasonings. People are saying that there isn’t enough or any at all. Cash Short said it best when he said “I feel like the chicken is not seasoned enough, but if it were to ever get seasoned, it would definitely be a part of my top 5.”
Someone else felt like the the food needed some seasoning too; “I think the mashed potatoes are good but I wish that they added some seasoning to it, same with the patties and the noodles,” said Isabella Torres.
Even a meal as simple as spaghetti could be better with more flavor; “I feel like the spaghetti here could use some more flavor, it’s still really good though.”
Although most people want seasonings on their food, the specific seasonings they want were never clarified. Follow ups were done with two of the students and this is what they said: “The basic salt and pepper would be enough, but I feel like some more specific seasoning would make it even better. Like chicken noodles seasoning or even some more condiments,” Cash Short said.
Out of two follow-ups, Isabella definitely had the most seasonings she wanted. “Personally, the seasonings I would like to be served would be: salt, mince garlic, paprika, premade chicken seasoning, basil, and thyme.”
Of course, eating lunch can make you thirsty. When something like that happens you need a beverage. That is when you can take the best advantage of getting some of the juices Osbourn serves here. Each of the juices here vary in taste to satisfy different people. Let’s see just which juice feels the most satisfying. Cash Short said “For me it’s between apple and orange juice, if I was forced to pick one, I would pick the orange juice, I just feel you can never really go wrong with it. It’s perfect.”
“To be honest, it’s between apple or grape, but I’d choose the grape flavor, mostly because it’s completely different from the others and it’s unique,” Cristian Aldana Medina said.
Wally Gywnn had a more heartwarming, but simple answer. “Apple juice, I’ve pretty much always liked it ever since I was young.”
In conclusion, people seem to love the lunches served at Osbourn High School. They love some lunches over others, but they’re all liked. It seems like the only flaw with the lunches is the absence of seasonings, but that’s only minor and can easily be fixed.

My favorite lunch is pizza dippers . I wish they served them more because they’re really good and it’s the best option in my opinion.

I love the pizza dippers here. Back in Metz, they only gave you 2 pizza dippers. In OHS, they give you 3 which satisfies me, even if it’s only 1 more pizza dipper.

I think the food could improve a little more. I always eat a pack lunch and not school lunch.

Almost every day, I get the Yogurt Parfait, it’s really delicious and I love mixing the granola with yogurt and the cold strawberries. It’s my favorite lunch they serve and I get it every day. I’m usually making my own lunch now since I’m realizing eating yogurt every day for lunch is not good but it’s my top fav.

My favorite lunches is the chicken and rice they had today. For me its similar to what I usually eat at home, and I think it’s actually seasoned unlike many other school lunches. The fries especially are never seasoned.

I don’t eat school food anymore since I pack my lunch now but last year, the chicken sandwich was my favorite. I agree that it isn’t messy and it satisfies my taste buds since it’s not too hot or cold. And it’s easy to eat!

The lunch here is pretty good compared to Metz and other schools. The only thing they should add is like places where you can add seasoning to your food manually, like a station or something.
